As part of me giving my thanks to all the insane people who read this story, I yield to you my thought processes and ideas I had when writing Return of Davis. Note that some things may be omitted because I forgot about them.
- Jason himself was originally an American with a fake pinky finger, which contained a needle of poison.
- The story was going to be much darker, with an emphasis on grieving on loss and the death of one's own ego. However, I'm not good at stuff like that, so I changed it to something more light-hearted.
- It was originally exclusively going to be an Azur Lane story, however with my interest in Arknights growing and me getting interested in DMC, Ace Combat and Project Wingman, I wove them in.
- Hernández was going to be far more like the Former Commander from TheQuoteMan2's Azur Lane fanfiction: "Land to Sea." Spout some creepy nonsense, drop an item of importance, and leave forever.
- Hirata was going to be a one-off character, but looking at the dates things happen, that would just waste a perfectly good character.
- We were going to follow the girls at the Coral Sea, but that was boring and I couldn't thing of anything interesting to do there, so we skipped it.
- The original fusion scene from Unlock Thyn Destiny and Awaken Davis was different in the original version. Alpha would have stolen Jason's BWC, but as he's been using it often, he inherited a bit of its power. He would cut through Sirens, fend off Purifier and Tester, push Alpha off a cliff (with him alongside), and both would grab onto the cube trying to wrench it out of each other's grasps, fusing in the process. Jason would then have Alpha's rigging and become Observer Beta.
- In the original, Howell was just going to be a cute reference to the past, but with the introduction of Heather, that changed drastically.
- After that change, Howell was to have fought Purifier in the past (hence the "It seems I underestimated your DNA's memory" line from Chapter 25), but I forgot to add it in Interlude 2.
- Yosuke Yuuki, the Japanese commander Jason killed, was going to be less important, just some fuck who wanted an international harem. With that, Yosuke, Amagi and Belfast were not to meet Jason back in the latter's childhood.
- Jason was going to be more of a horndog, going after most of the adults in the base, playing things far softer than anything Hernández did. That was scrapped almost immediately.
- Akagi. Oh, sweet Akagi. She's surprisingly soft in this story, right? I felt like she deserved better than the usual "Haha, funny yandere, avoid at all costs!" meme she is often known for. This Akagi actually came from 348860 (no answers will be given). It's part one of three. Go read the series. It's genuinely a cute read, and Suzuki-san's art makes Akagi so much softer than I'd have ever expected. I still prefer Amagi, though.
Everyone, thank you so much for reading this story. I'll be taking a break to fill out a couple of chapters for the next story, but to do so, I would like your input.
I have several old stories I'd like to remake here (or back on their old site), and give them more than 10 chapters of bad story, however I also have new content I'd like to create. As well, Davis' story is not over yet. Which of the following would you like me to explore?

The continuation of Return of Davis, where Jason and Hernández head off to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, respectively, to assist in the war effort (two books updated in chronological order).
The RoD stories will use the script format that I've been doing for this story, but the originals would follow more traditional novel styles. Ain't sure how I'd do the P3 fanfic, though.
