August 9, 1942
I don't even know where to begin.
Oh, wait, yeah, I do.
Two days after my birthday was Ray's. Unlike me, who had a loud party where some of the staff got involved, Ray's was more laidback. He and I sat at the edge of the docks, taking some drinks and talking shit.
Honestly, better than any party.
Over the past couple of weeks, the nations of the Allied Forces:
- Have legalized marriage with shipgirls (called the "oath" system),
- Have legalized polygamy within said oaths, which lets a single male have a single female and a harem of shipgirls,
- Are seeing if shipgirls can get pregnant (because apparently, within the decade+ since the organization has existed, not one man tried to have sex*), and
- Have pardoned Ray completely.
*On that third note, apparently, even if Nimi is fertile, combat might've killed the embryo before it had a chance. Fortunate for all of us, really. Except Nimi, who, y'know, was raped.
Belfast and Amagi are now oathed to me. Things are going too fast for my liking.
In other news, due to reasons (mostly named Akagi), Amagi is not allowed to leave base when Akagi is here (or at all, she's still sickly from being awakened from the dead). Since I'm going to be leaving soon, I need a new place to set up, so the Amagi is where I'll be sleeping and working (I don't know if this is a big brain move, or a massive mistake due to Amagi's heat cycles). Admiral Nimitz now has what was once my room and office.
I have discovered that alcohol is not for me. Since I've dropped cigs, I don't want a new addiction. Plus, a lot of alcohol tastes awful. Plus, that feeling. Oh, God, the feeling.
With an influx of new soldiers, I publicised the rules I made back when Zui-chi joined us again, --- Chapter 22: Unity --- and re-established them as the most important rules to follow. I added another rule, Rule 12, which is basically an anti-rape statement. This is to make opportunistic scumbag soldiers reconsider their position: a shipgirl's word has more weight than a single soldier's, so if they claim rape, it's rape. Although this may seem one-sided, there is also a clause that if the shipgirl lies about this and is found out, they're the one getting the punishment, not the accused soldier.
Anyways, that's a quick update on the personal life, how about that war, right?
With the victory at Midway, many of the former Japanese Air Force pilots wanted to join us to attack the Nazis. I guess not all Japanese soldiers liked the idea of ethnic cleansing (but had no problems with what's happening in China).
We're hatching strategies to assist with reclaiming territories, but for now, I'm on the back burner, acting less as a military commander, leading the troops to battle, but more of a PMC like Sicario, sending shipgirls to assist the Allies. Guadalcanal is up, and I've already sent a detachment to assist allies.
Speaking of Sicario, apparently Robin and Henry are making something for their squadron. What it is and why they need Siren planes, I don't wanna know.
With their defeat in Midway, 'YMT' keeps trying to contact me. I'll answer her tonight.
Shaking my head, I read through the last report and sign off on it. Placing the folder to the side, I stretch, giving myself a chance to breathe, and look over to the door. Nagato enters the room.
Nagato: "You wished to speak to me, Shikikan?"
"Ah, Nagato, yeah. So, I've been receiving constant radio messages around 1200 local time from a kansen from the Sakura Empire. I was wondering if—"
