10 Days to Operation
Mission: START
"Eh? You got me something?"
Nimi is hugging the corner of the sofa, getting as far away from Ray as she can.
Ray: "Yeah. Ya see, part of the Navy's uniform is an optional sword belt. They're trying to phase that out, but for now, you have a sword belt in your wardrobe. And you can wear a sword around town. It's pretty cool; I used to do that before the whole Alpha thing." Huh. I saw some Navy men having swords, but I didn't know it was a legitimate thing...
"...I thought that that was a fashion statement or something."
Ray: "Yeah. It's called 'I'm a fucking badass, fucking fuck off, cunt.'"
"...A little more eloquently, please?"
Ray: "'I am of a higher status than you plebians, check out my sword. It's only slightly shorter compared to my-'"
"So, what, you got me a sword?"
Ray: "Check it."
And out of the bottomless interdimensional hammer space void that is known as a man's pant pockets, comes this absolutely beautiful obsidian-blue blade. A dark oak grip, jet-black basket guard, and a similarly coloured sheath. It's simplistic, but gorgeous.
Oh, God, I'm horny over a sword. God, what has my life become?
Oh, yeah. I fucked a ship. Yeah, I don't get to complain anymore.
I stand up.
"A... Are you sure? This looks expensive."
Ray: "Just take it. I got no use for it, anyways. Not like the one who gave it to me wants me to have it anymore, at least."
I look to Nimi, and she looks away. Oh, so that's what happened.
I look Ray in the eyes: "I gladly accept your gift, Lieutenant Commander." I grip the handle. "I'll take good care of it."
Ray: "Good. Hopefully it'll do better in your possession than in mine.
"Right."
...
"Nimi, aren't you going to say something? Anything?" Looks like she didn't talk to Ray like I asked her to.
Ray noticed Nimi in the room, as she gets as far away as she can from her former Commander.
Ray: "...It's fine. She wants nothing to do with me. As to be expected. I'll be in the R&D Depot if you need me, Comandante."
"Oh, for fuck's sake... Ya know, at this rate, I'm just gonna lock you two in a small room and won't let you out until you have a proper dialogue!"
