A sword implants itself into the ground, its former wielder pleasantly surprised.

"Checkmate, Ray."

Ray: "Increíble, Boss. You actually disarmed me." He massages his right wrist. "Wasn't expecting that yet! How do you have so much strength in your left hand?"

"I'm left-handed, remember? Ambidextrous, actually, but I prefer my left."

Ray: "Oh, yeah. Kinda forgot. Wait, that's rare, isn't it? You rarely ever hear people admit they're left-handed."

"Dude, religious nutcases hate left-handed people for some ungodly reason. I'm not telling people that just in case; I'm sure many others would say the same."

Ray, stretching: "No, no, I get ya~." I'll never get used to Ray moaning while stretching. Just seems... weird, somehow. "Don't want people to– nope! Gonna shut my mouth now!"

"What? You can't just leave me hanging like that."

Ray: "No, I don't think I will. Anyways, what're you gonna do now? Admiral Nimitz is down at comms; most commissions aren't being accepted due to the anticipated attack..."

"I was thinking. You're good at music, yeah?"

Ray: "I mean, I guess? I just learned from my pops before he died." I can hear his spine popping.

"Yeah, so I wanna learn from you. Singing, to be precise."

Ray: "Alright, yeah. Sure. So..."

May 5, 1942, Japan...

Wooden geta clank against steel and concrete as a single fox wanders down a path, intending to meet with someone. She's exhausted, but she won't let that deter her. Not yet. Much is left to be done.

Akagi: "Siren! I'm here."

Observer Alpha reveals herself from around a corner, playing with one of her tentacles.

Alpha: "How does it go, Akagi? You seem weak."

Akagi scoffs at the short stack in front of her before revealing a Black Wisdom Cube.

Akagi: "That bastard is running me ragged, but apparently he's going to let me and a few others rest for the next couple of days, so I'll be fine. Here's the newest charge done."

Alpha: "Excellent. Say, I never told you about that one guy from the Azur Lane, Davis, right?"

Akagi's expression changed from one of 'I just wanna nap' to 'You fucking what, mate?' Needless to say, she's interested.

Akagi: "...Go on."

Alpha: "Yeah, that bastard apparently owns a Black Wisdom Cube, probably from when I kidnapped him in... early Γαμηλιών? Which is late... What's that in Japanese... Mutsuki (January). The month of Mutsuki. Yeah, he stole it from me, the little prick."

Akagi: "So, Jason Davis has a Black Wisdom Cube?"

Alpha: "Yep, and, from what I've seen, he uses it to fight us Sirens head on. The man's a menace."

Akagi: "I see. So, how many more cubes are needed?"

Alpha: "...I'd say maybe two or three." She sends another BWC down to Akagi. "The deal is still in effect."

Akagi: "Obviously." Akagi's eyes betray her words. If Davis truly is able to bring her back, wouldn't it be better for Akagi to side with humanity again? It would make the deal with Alpha redundant, anyways.
