Siren HQ

June 8, 1942

I hurryingly rush through the sterile halls of our Antarctician headquarters, heading to the room where my Empress is residing in. I don't want to go in there, but I have to.

Knocking on the door, I hear permission to enter, and so I do.

Entering the Arbiter's Chamber (think of it like any medieval fantasy throne room, it's basically that), I kneel in front of my Empress.

"My Empress."

Empress: "Explorer Unit 83-"

"My Empress, I go by Eva. It's simpler."

Empress: "Ah, my apologies, Eva. What are you doing here?"

"I am here to give the report on the Battle we participated in not too long ago."

Empress: "Ah, yes. Midway. What are the results?"

"...Broken Arrow."

My Empress looks at me, confused.

"...'Broken Arrow' means a live nuclear warhead being burned, jettisoned, or lost in transit. US code word during the Cold War and beyond. In our case, 35 W-87 nuclear warheads, placed in 4 Peacekeepers, are at the bottom of the ocean off the coast of Midway. The last 10 were destroyed by Enterprise and her Commander while it was in the air."

Empress: "...Is there more?"

"Orochi has been destroyed completely. Doubtful can we salvage anything useful from it now, especially because of the aforementioned warheads still inside, still hot. Japanese forces surrendered. Purifier has died and... Observer Alpha is missing."

Empress: "Missing?"

"All we know is that she is not dead. Her system logs have not updated since the battle."

Empress: "Is she still connected?"

"Yes."

Empress: "This is concerning..."

Elite Sirens work differently to us Executive-class girls. We can have thousands of us wandering about no problem, but there can only be one Elite at a time. This is because they have more complex and unique personalities that take up a lot of storage in our systems, which does not even mention their memories. They update their logs about once a day, at least, but A has yet to update since the Battle.

"Worse of all is... the Azur Lane Commander."

Empress: "Davis... Again with him."

"Tester Beta might give better details, but apparently he now has the powers of the Orochi within his sword. It's unknown how."

Empress: "Thank you... Before you leave."

"Hm?"

Empress: "Here."

She tosses a small device over to me, which I catch. It seems to be a microcomputer with hologram capabilities.

Empress: "Give this to their Commander. Slip in in the dead of night on the 11th. 1 A.M. local should be your best opportunity."

"I understand. Any reasons why?"

Empress: "I've taken an interest in the boy. I want to see what he'll do with this."

"Understood."

Empress: "Also, I have accepted your enhancements. They shall be ready once you return."

"Incredible! Thank you so much, my Empress!"

Empress: "Anything else to report, Eva?"

"Yes. The Arbiters wish to speak with you on the 11th, as well."
