I flick off the computer, looking to the girls. I ignored reading the Author's Notes (yes, Lieutenant man, your horniness is why you are not allowed near women) and laid out Hirata's past on the table.
"Now, do you see why I trust her? She worked hard to get to this point. I'm not letting a hard worker lose their positions over something like race or sex." Ignoring my feelings for Hirata, she's still a powerful person. If she were a guy, we'd still have a solid relationship (but it'd probably be drinking buddies instead of potential lovers... unless-).
Belfast: "I see."
"Right. Let's see..." I put up the fingers of my left hand and lower them with each topic covered. "What Ray told me in the prison, the Black Wisdom Cube, Ray's sentence, Admiral Sakaguchi's position... Did we need to discuss anything else?"
Enterprise: "You needed to talk to Belfast about that dream you had."
"Oh, you're right! Thanks, Enty!"
Enty: *Sigh* "Sis is really affecting you, isn't she?"
"Anything else?" (ᴱⁿᵗʸ ⁻ ᴬʳᵉ ʸᵒᵘ ᶦᵍⁿᵒʳᶦⁿᵍ ᵐᵉˀᵎ)
Q.E.: "I cannot think of anything." (ᴱⁿᵗʸ ⁻ ᴴᵉ ᶦˢᵎ)
"Looks like we're done here! Enterprise, Elizabeth, Z23, focus on finding that hiding spot. Report to me when you find it."
Enty: "Fine."
Liz: "Consider it done!"
23: "Expect results by next week, Commander."
"Good. Everyone except Belfast, you are dismissed. Vestal, sorry for using your time."
Vestal: "No need to worry, Commander. I'm just glad the Black Wisdom Cube didn't harm you."
"Yeah, me too. Right, thank you girls for your time!"
After a bit of commotion, it's just me and Belfast once more.
"Bel, let me ask. Have we met before?"
Bel: "...so you finally remembered?"
"Only bits and pieces from that dream I mentioned. But... if the dream is true..."
Bel: "...What?"
"...I have even more reason to trust Ray."
Bel: "But, why?"
"...He wanted to revive Amagi." I grab the filing cabinet and move it out of the way. The button is clear as day.
Bel: "What's that? And what do you mean, 'revive Amagi?'"
'0621...' The hidden compartment slid open and out came exactly what Ray said. Enough yen, Cubes, and blueprints to revive Amagi. I grab it all and lay it down on the desk.
"What do you say to bringing an old friend back?
Bel: "..." Her eyes water up. "...Let's do it."
"Right. We're gonna need a lot of materials, but I think we can pull it off by the end of the year, or if not, next year for sure." I reach for Bel's face and wipe a tear from her cheek. "I'm sure I'll remember everything we did back in the day. Let's bring her back."
