Once we landed in Oklahoma and made it to the gates Blake and I saw Tommy and Gail waiting for us.
"Sophie!" Gail squealed wrapping her arms around me tightly.
"Hi!" I said stunned by her hug. I could see Blake giving his dad a quick hug and pat on the back out of the corner of my eye.
"We are so happy that you're here," Gail said letting go.
"What about me?" Blake asked jokingly.
"Oh yes, you too. Come here," she smiled as she hugged her son and kissed him on the cheek.
"Sophie, how are you?" Tommy asked with a small smile.
"I'm well Mr. Griffin, I'm well. How about yourself?"
"Oh you know you can call me Tommy! And I'm glad you're here. Keeping this one in check I hope at home?"
"Always," I said smirking as Tommy grabbed my suitcase.
"Are we ready Gail? You know you two have dinner reservations at 6:00 and it's almost 4:00," Tommy said looking at his watch.
"Yes, you two ready?" Gail asked.
"Yeah, let's go," Blake said grabbing my hand.

It was a short car ride to the Griffin residence. We pulled up to a quaint little brick house in a cul-de-sac with a red door.
"Alright, you guys hungry? I made a cake earlier or I can make you a sandwich. Or coffee? You want some coffee. I'm have tea too," Gail began to ramble.
"Mom. I think we're ok. Just let us just relax for a bit," Blake said to his mom.
"Sorry. Sorry. But really Sophie just let me know if you need anything. Blake you know where everything is. But, here let me show you to your rooms," Gail said leading us upstairs.
"Rooms?" I whispered back at Blake.
"I'll take care of it," he said to me getting in front of me.
"Ok, Blake you know you have your room. And Sophie, your room is over here," she said opening a door to a small guest bedroom that had a queen size bed, dresser, night stand, and small flat screen on the wall.
"Mom can I talk to you?" Blake said putting his hand on his mom's shoulder.
"Yeah baby, of course. Sophie, I'll have Tommy bring up your suitcase in just a minute," she said from around the corner as I gave her a small smile in return. I could hear Gail and Blake whispering around the corner while I looked around the guest bedroom. There were pictures of Blake and his brother that hung on the wall. One where they wore matching green polos and were posed by their bicycles and another one where Blake and his brother were sitting on the couch with a Tommy. I smiled at the photo, Blake only looking about two nestled in the crook of his father's arms.
"What are you smiling at?" Blake said standing in the doorway.
"You!" I said pointing to the picture.
"Oh yeah, raising hell since '89," he said laughing coming toward me.
"You were such a cutie though," I said pinching his cheeks and kissing him.
"Yeah, they say not much has changed," he said sarcastically.
"Oh my god," I said rolling my eyes as he wrapped me up in his arms.
"I'm glad you're here," he said putting his nose against mine.
"Me too," I said smiling up at him hearing a knock at the door that caused us both to look in the doorway.
"Sorry, am I interrupting something?" Gail said shyly as I pulled away from Blake.
"No, I think Sophie was just getting ready to go to dinner," Blake said.
"Oh, yes! But Sophie, I just wanted to say that you don't have to stay in here. You can of course stay with Blake. Whatever you feel comfortable with. But will you be ready to go in an hour or so?" She asked.
"Ok, and yes I'll be ready," I said giving her a soft smile as she gave me one in return before shutting the door. As soon as I heard her go down the stairs I glared at Blake.
"What?" He asked defensively.
"You told her!" I said smacking his chest and putting my suitcase on the bed.
"Told her what?"
"Don't play dumb. You told her that were sleeping together! Now she's gonna see me as some whore," I spat while getting out something to wear to dinner.
"I didn't tell her that were sleeping together like that! I told her that you've been staying over at my place and that there was no need for us to sleep in separate rooms," he said defending himself.
"Ugh, I just don't want her to think that I'm trying to get in your pants especially while in her home!"
"Well so what if you did? We're adults. And besides I think it'd be kind of hot on my childhood bed with my Michael Jordan poster on the ceiling," he said winking.
"Stop. Stop. I don't want anyone, even Michael Jordan to know were sleeping together," I said closing my eyes as I heard Blake's laughter.
"Only you Soph, only you."

"Does this look ok? I mean we aren't going anywhere too fancy right?" I asked Blake who was stretched out on the bed focused on something on TV. I was wearing a simple black shift dress, my denim jacket, and brown wedges.
"You look nice Soph, especially that ass," he said smirking.
"Stop," I said while putting on a pair of pearl earrings and my David Yurman bracelet.
"What? It's true! It's a compliment."
"Ok, I'm sorry. Thank you for complimenting my ass. I really appreciate it," I said rolling my eyes. I looked at myself in the mirror one more time before grabbing my purse.
"Let me walk you down," Blake said holding out his hand which I took as he led me downstairs to the front door. Gail was coming from the living room to where we are all smiles.
"You ready?" She asked excitedly.
"Mhmm," I said tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
"Look at this my two favorite girls hangin' out! Don't cause to much trouble," he said hugging us both.
"Sophie, I'm just gonna be out in the car. Take your time, ok?" She said going out the front door.
"And you," Blake said as the front door shut.
"What?" I asked confused.
"You better behave, or there will be serious consequences," he growled as he smacked my ass.
"Hey!"
"Better get going," he said winking as he opened the door for me.

Gail and I were seated at our table as soon as we walked into the restaurant.
"So, Blake tells me you just got a new job?"
Gail's says to fill some of the silence.
"Yeah, I'm going to be a physical therapist for the Lakers. So I start next month," I said taking a sip of my water.
"Ooooo the Lakers?" She said jokingly.
"I know, I know, I was surprised Blake wanted to go out and celebrate afterwards!" I said as we both laughed.
"Lakers, Clippers, or Thunder, it's great that you got a job doing something you like."
"Oh, absolutely. And this quickly too."
"Are your parents out in LA?" Gail asked.
"They are, my dad travels a lot for work but my mom is always home attending or planning some event."
"Oh ok, did you grow up there?"
"I did. Been there since '92."
"Yeah, to be honest I didn't know if Blake was gonna make it when he first moved out there."
"Really?"
"Oh yeah. He'd just turned 21 and had been in this little town his whole life and then he was picking up everything and leaving for who knew how long?" Gail said.
"Yeah. But look at him now. He's doing great. He could be MVP of the year and he's got his life made out for him in LA," I said trying to reassure her.
"Yeah, I think he's doing well. I'm glad he's finally found someone, a girl at least that can keep in check," she said smiling.
"I'm glad that I found him. He's so sweet and has such a big heart. And I've never met anyone like him," I said to Gail.
"That's how I raised my boys. It's good to hear that they are still sweet boys. I think that's one thing every mother wants, sweet kids."
"I want that, I want that too," I said softly. Soon after our waiter had come over and taken our order our food was out in no time and Gail and I continued chatting in between bites.
"You know Tommy and I are flying out in a couple weeks when the Clippers play New Orleans," Gail said after taking a bit of her salad.
"Really? Well I'd love you guys to come over to my place and let me cook dinner one night!" I said excitedly.
"That would be so nice of you. You know before you came along I think the only home cooked meal Blake got was when he came to play the Thunder," Gail said rolling her eyes.
"That's what I've heard. But I'll take care of that," I said to her.
"You know whenever Blake calls me he always talks about you. That's the first thing he talks about," Gail says making me blush.
"He's a good guy. You raised a good boy."
"And he told me something before you guys came out here that he's never said about any other girl before."
"What was that?"
"He loves you," she said looking at me with a small smile.
"I know. And I love him too. I finally told him that," I said as I felt my eyes begin to water a little bit. I could cry. Why would I cry? I then felt Gail's hand rest on top of mine.
"Oh don't cry sweetie. Why are you crying?" She asked with concerning eyes.
"It's just. Honestly, I was always told that I wouldn't get this. I was never gonna find someone and have someone love me and take care of me. But I think it's happening but I can't tell if it should be," I said wiping under my eyes.
"Listen Sophie. You are a girl who has made my son so happy. You deserve this. You deserve someone who takes care of you and loves you. You're a sweet girl Sophie. Don't let anyone tell you different," she said looking at me.

After Gail and I finished up dinner we headed back to the Griffin house.
"I had a good time tonight," I said to Gail as we both waited at the bottom of the staircase.
"Me too Sophie. Come here," she said insisting on a hug.
"Thank you, thank you so much," I said as we still held onto each other.
"You're welcome sweetie. Now go get some rest," she said letting me go as I made my way up the stairs. I quietly opened the door to see a sleeping Blake. His feet hanging over the queen sized bed and the TV still turned on. I went into the bathroom to get ready for bed. And finally after putting pajamas on I went and joined him. He had one arm around the pillows on my side of the bed, leaving a decent sized space between his right side and the edge the bed which I happily nestled into, dozing off quickly.
