After the home game we had on Saturday, which ended in a loss, I went to a cute kids boutique called Sweet Peas to get Camryn a birthday present. When I walked in a was greeted by an older woman with a sweet smile.
"Can I help you find anything sweetie?"
"No, just looking," I said to her as I went to a shelf in the back.

After picking out a princess themed bath tub toy set for Camryn, I decided to look at the baby clothes. It wouldn't hurt to just look and maybe get the idea of what kind of clothes I want my baby to wear. I saw the cutest little girls first birthday outfit. It was a white onesie with a gold number one accompanied by multi colored polka dots and then paired with a tulle tutu that had confetti in between the layers. Absolutely adorable. If I end up having a girl I may just have to come and snag that for her first birthday. I then went over to the little boys clothes and saw a little yellow polo. I thought about how perfect it would look on my little boy. I'm sure he would that year round tan skin and dark curly hair. Maybe even a few freckles too. I ran my hand over what looks to be forming a small bump and smiled. I couldn't wait to have my baby in my arms. Mid morning snuggles before Blake went to practice. It was the ultimate dream.

After purchasing Camryn's gift I went to Blake's to get ready for the party.
"Soph? That you?" Blake called out from the living room.
"Yeah...who else would it be?" I asked confused.
"Oh, well my other girlfriend is supposed to be coming over later so..." Blake said as his voice trailed off.
"Oh please," I said to him smacking his chest as he let out a rich laugh.
"You know I'm kidding baby. You ok today?" He said as he pulled me in closer to his chest.
"Eh, I was a little nauseous this morning but I'm alright now."
"Just think it'll all be worth it when baby G is here," Blake said smiling as he ran his hand over my belly.
"Baby G?" I asked.
"Baby Griffin!"
"Oh, right. Ahahah, I forgot."
"You know I forgot to tell you that my parents are flying in tonight. It's Taylor's birthday and they haven't been down in a month or so," Blake said scratching his head.
"Oh, ok. Do they need to stay at my house or anything?"
"No, they'll stay here. But I think their plane gets in at like 11:30 tonight and Taylor and Marieka will bring them here."
"Ok, well did you make sure the guest bathroom had new towels and stuff?" I asked Blake as he nodded his head. "And what about the coffee your mom likes? And Tommy's cereal?"
"Already two steps ahead of you sweets. Stop stressing. It's not good for you or baby G," Blake said smiling and running his hand down the side of my face. I held his hand there for a second feeling the weight of his palm sink into my skin.
"C'mon, we should be getting ready for the party," Blake said grabbing my hand and leading me upstairs.

After showering and putting on some light makeup I decided to wear a short mint dress with sandals. After slipping it on I realized that the fabric was a little tight around my waist and showed the outline of my very small bump beginning to form. I didn't want any weird looks or questions tonight. I mean it's not like anyone can say anything worse than my mom. But, Blake and I decided not to tell the world quite just yet. First we needed to tell his parents and then get everything checked out by the doctor. I decided to ditch the mint dress for a loose fitting black maxi dress and denim jacket. I put my hair up in a low bun and put on a dainty gold necklace before getting my purse and going into Blake's bedroom.
"You ready babe?" I asked Blake, who was sitting on the bed doing something on his phone.
"Yeah, almost. Give me one sec," he said typing furiously. What the hell was he typing so fast?
"What are you doing?" I asked walking over to him.
"Nothing, I'm done," he said shoving his phone back into his pocket and slipping a hand around my waist and pulling me down onto his lap.
"Mmmm, you smell good sweets. What is that?" He said putting his nose against my neck and leaving a trail of kisses up to my ear.
"It's a Marc Jacobs perfume. You like it?" I asked him, putting my arms around his neck.
"Like it? Love it. It's so tempting. I mean I hope I don't lose control at this kids party," Blake said biting his lower lip.
"Blake Austin! You better not," I said smacking his chest.
"You know I'm kidding Soph. I would never. At least without your consent."
"Well, I'm not giving you my consent that's for sure! Now c'mon, I don't want to be late."

When we got to the Paul home, we were greeted by Jada and Camryn who was stuck to her hip with her face nuzzled in the crook of Jada's neck.
"Hello, come on in, come on in." Jada said opening the door wider.
"How are you?" I asked Jada as Blake went into the living room with the rest of the guys.
"I'm good, just wish she'd go and be two. Ahahah," she said pointing to Camryn who was decked out in princess attire. "How are you and mini?" Jada asked.
"So far so good. I've just been a little nauseous but, I have an appointment Thursday," I said following Jada in the kitchen.
"Oh that's exciting! Did you go with Dr. Marks?"
"We did, we did. So yeah I just want to make sure everything is alright before we tell everyone. I think we might tell Blake's parents tonight."
"Yeah? How about your parents, do they know?" Jada asked grabbing a small handful of chips to feed to Camryn.
"Yeah, it didn't go over so well as I imagine," I said pouring myself some iced tea.
"What happened?"
"My mom flipped. As usual. Said that Blake was gonna leave me as soon as he sees how much work the baby is. She said that I'm not ready and she told me that I should get rid of the problem."
"She did not," Jada gasped.
"I know, and she did. I knew she'd be mad, but I didn't think she'd say that you know?"
"Yeah. That's some bull you know. That's a baby she's talking about. Her grand baby," Jada said between her teeth.
"Yeah, I know. I mean I had no words. And my dad said he was thrilled. Beyond that. But to hear your own mother say that to you, it's just, I don't know," I said shaking my head.
"I can't even imagine Soph, and I'm sorry you had to go through that," Jada said bringing me into a hug. I was really happy that I could call Jada a friend.
"You know you've done so much for me lately. And I'm just so thankful."
"Don't mention it. Us basketball wives gotta stick together!"
"Haha, I'm not even a wife and you treat me like one."
"Girl, you've practically earned that wife status and you know it!" Jada said.
"Yeah, she has," a familiar voice said.
"Hey, you," I said to Blake as he snaked his arm around me and Jada went over to Chris in the living room.
"You ok?" Blake said.
"Yeah, just thinking."
"Uh oh. About what?"
"Everything. You. Me. The baby. My psychotic mother. My job. Tomorrow."
"What's tomorrow?"
"Just another day," I said laughing.
"Yeah, very true. But don't sweat it. I mean look, tomorrow just means the closer we get to meeting baby G. And look, one day we may be having one of these princess parties for our bundle of royalty or maybe we will be teaching our little baller how to dunk like his daddy."
"You're right, and I can't wait for that. It's just all of this now is so--"
"I know, it's a lot. But it'll all be worth it. Trust me. You, me, and baby G, we're in this together."
"I love you, Blake. I really do," I said as our fingers began to intertwine.
