Friends Night Out

"Hey baby."
"Hey, I just dropped Rae off to get her car and now I'm on my way," I said putting on my blinker.
"Ok, I'm already here and I have our usual table," Blake said.
"Ok, will you order me a half--"
"Half and half tea? Already got it," he said.
"Of course you did. Alright I see you in a bit," I said smiling.
"Alright be careful. There is a good amount of traffic."
"I will."
"Love you."
"Love you too. Bye," I said hanging up the phone. It took me about twenty minutes to get to Nobu and as I was getting out of my car I heard a familiar cackle behind me. I looked behind me to see a laughing DJ with Amber by his side. She was giving him the look as all of us women gave our men as DJ continued to laugh. I walked closer to them in the middle of the parking lot until Amber took of her sunglasses and recognized me.
"I thought I heard a familiar laugh," I said.
"Girl, I haven't seen you in so long!" Amber said hugging me.
"I know. It's just been busy you know," I said tucking some of my hair behind my ear.
"Yeah, it totally get it. I'm glad y'all are back together. Like damn I thought I'd never see you again after the way he did you."
"Yeah, it was all just lack of communication you know. We're all good now," I said as I felt the buzz of my cell phone in the palm of my hand. I looked down to see a text from Blake asking me where I was.
"Hey, you guys should eat with Blake and I. You know so we can catch up."
"My main BG is here?" DJ said.
"Yeah, he's been waiting for awhile too," I said as DJ opened the door for Amber and I.
"Hi, how many?" The hostess asked.
"Umm, my hus--boyfriend is already here," I said to the hostess.
"Ok, you guys enjoy."
"I think he's back here," I said to Amber and DJ as we all walked to the back of the restaurant.

As we finally reached the back I saw Blake sitting in a booth by himself swirling the straw in his drink as he stared at his phone. He looked up and I felt myself smile as one crept on his face.
"Thought I was being stood up," Blake said standing up giving me kiss and snaking his arm around me and giving me a little squeeze.
"Sorry, there was bad traffic and I ran into these two and thought they could join us," I said pointing behind me.
"Maaaannnnn you know you just can't stay away can you?!" Blake said slapping DJ on the back.
"Pssshh! Please! Me? What about you. And what about tomorrow? You going to that pickup game?" DJ asked as Amber and I sat down.

"So. How's the job? How are you and him now? Tell me everything," Amber said sliding into the booth with me.
"The job is great. I mean haven't had many wins yet but I love it. I love my boss and the rest of the staff. I just feel like I'm doing what I want to be doing you know?"
"Yes, it's such an indescribable feeling you get."
"Yeah, and I love being able to travel all the time so it never gets boring for me. I guess the only downside is being away from him," I said nodding my head at Blake who was laughing with DJ.
"Yeah, but they travel too. It's work...So what is going on with you two?"
"I mean we're together. Like together, together."
"Good. DJ told me what happened. Girl. You
know I would've killed his ass."
"Yeah, I felt like I would've too but I didn't," I said laughing taking a sip of my tea.
"Anything else new?" Amber asked after ordering her drink.
"Umm, no. Not really," I said taking another sip.
"What are you two talking about?" Blake asked and him and DJ leaned in toward Amber and I.
"Work. Men. The usual," Amber said.
"Hmmm, all good I hope," Blake said giving me a look out of the corner of his eye.
"Maybe," I said teasing. I then felt his foot hook around mine under the table causing me to smirk. I saw that he had his phone under the table and moments later I felt mine vibrate against the table. It was from Blake.
Should we tell them?

I mean we're going to eventually...why not?
Then let's tell them. Your parents are going to be here at the end of the week. I typed quickly.
I then saw Blake nod at me as he cleared his throat getting my attention. He had a big smile on his face. He always did.
"So y'all got anything happenin' lately?" DJ asked.
"Actually, we were just about to tell you guys some news," Blake said.
"Please don't tell me your ass signed with the Lakers like your girl over here!" DJ teased as we all laughed together.
"Man you know I ain't goin' anywhere. At least not yet. It's something better than that."
"What is it then?" Amber asked.
"We're having a baby," I said softly.
"What?! Shut up!" Amber gasped.
"BG? You gon be a big daddy?" DJ asked.
"Ya man. Baby Griffin is due in July," Blake said.
"Man, that's awesome! You know I gotta be uncle DJ. You know I have to!" DJ said as he hugged Blake.
"Soph! I'm so excited for y'all! A baby! When do you find out if its a boy or a girl?" Amber asked giving me a quick hug.
"In just a few weeks actually. Then we can start buying all the stuff for the nursery and all the fun stuff."
"Wow. That's so awesome. How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling ok. A little nauseous here and there but overall I'm really good. Really excited and happy. I don't when the last time I've been with someone who's made me feel like this."

After having dinner and chatting with Amber and DJ we decided to call it a night.
"Alright congrats again you two. Ya'll are bout to get your world rocked," DJ said walking to his car.
"Yeah, it'll all be worth it in the end though," Blake said laughing as we waved to Amber and DJ.

"That was fun," I said to Blake as he grabbed my hand.
"It was. It's nice being able to share the news and people being so excited."
"It really is. It just makes me more excited,"
I said as we walked to my car.
"Alright, I'll see you at home?" Blake asked as he opened my door for me.
"Yeah, I'll beat you there," I said winking.
"I'm not even in my car yet," he said as I started my car.
"You're always up for a little competition though. I'll see you at home,"
I said smiling as I shut the door.

I beat Blake home as I imagined and I went ahead and went upstairs to change out of my dress and into one of his tshirts and hopped into bed.

"There you are," I said to Blake as he walked into the bedroom.
"You beat me."
"As I always do," I said teasing.
"I got stuck behind a wreck," he said laying down next to me.
"I'm sorry baby," I said rubbing his chest.
"Sorry my ass. You won!" Blake joked.
"I know. I'll let you win next time."
"Promise?"
"Only if you help me clean the house before your parents get here tomorrow,"
I said.
"Deal," Blake said turning off the lamp. "Goodnight Sophie."
"Goodnight."

I know nothing exciting happened in this chapter but next chapter Tommy and Gail are back! How will they react to the news about Baby Griffin?! Remember to vote! Have a fabulous weekend lovelies!
