Chapter 21

"Dasoviche?"

My eyes stay still on the window. I am still thinking why did I enter this. I didn't graduate with flying colors. I graduated BS in Psychology in La Salle, with me being an average student. I just continued my previous course.

I don't know what I was thinking when I applied to take the LSAT after I passed the board exam. I am a licensed Psychometrician. Yet, I don't want to work on anything related to it. I, myself, need a psychiatrist for being so unstable.

All my life, I knew that I'll take NMAT. I want to be a doctor for my late... parents. I will go to a Med School after my undergrad degree.

Luckily, I passed the exam. And not just passed it, I aced the exam.

Mom and Dad encouraged me to apply to a Law School. After knowing that I topped the LSAT, which I never expected, I was kind of pressured to really enter Law School.

I ended up in Ateneo Law School. From being a Green Archer, naging Blue eagle ako. How funny.

And what's more funny is I really graduated from my dream school which is La Salle. Nakapasok ako duon, nag-aral, maraming naging kaibigan pero may kulang. Everything that I want is given in a snap of fingers yet there's still an empty space in my heart. A void that no one or nothing can replace.

"Calhaine Prestyn Gomez-Dasoviche,"

My eyes flew in front when I heard my name. My true name that until now I'm not used of people calling me.

For eighteen years of my existence, I am Adyleighn Torreto.

"Lagot ka. Kanina ka pa tinatawag, Leigh." Bulong ng katabi ko.

Leigh. That's my nickname. I kind of got it from my previous name. Adyleighn and Calhaine.

Not until Leigh came out.

"You look like you're still not over your extravagant party in your yacht," Matabang na komento ni Atty. Quirino sa akin.

Of course, the party I held two days ago is still trending in the School's student page.

They say that as a law student, you wouldn't have time to even fix yourself. Sa sobrang daming readings, walang humpay na recitations at case to digests. But I can manage my time really well. I can multitask. If they knew the word though.

"In the case of Marivic Genosa vs. People of the Philippines, what was the issue?"

I stood up and started to recollect the things I've read in my mind. And like an image, it pops in.

"Whether or not the appellant acted in self-defense and in defense of her fetus," I confidently answered.

"Another issue?" Tanong muli niya.

"The second issue is whether or not treachery attended the killing of..."
