Axel's POV:

I woke up to a lot of pain in my leg. It was dark out and Grant was still sleeping. The clock on my phone said 3:42. There was no way I was going to go back to sleep with the pain I was in. I carefully climbed out of bed so I didn't wake Grant up. I held in my groan from the pain as I put weight on my bad leg. I limped out of the bedroom and carefully made my way down the stairs. I made it into the kitchen and grabbed baggies for the ice before filling them with ice. I grabbed the tape and ace bandage before hobbling my way into the living room. I taped the ice onto my knee before wrapping it with the bandage.

I didn't want to get water on the new couch in case I fell asleep so I put the couch pillows and a throw blanket on the floor before sliding off the couch onto the floor. I pulled another blanket down and over my upper body before propping my leg up on a few more pillows and laying down. The ice wasn't helping all that much yet but I closed my eyes and tried to force myself to fall asleep.

Grant's POV

I woke up when my alarm went off and turned it off. I had to get Axel his meds then he could go back to sleep. I turned my head and noticed his side of the bed was empty and cold, meaning he had been gone for a while. I quickly threw the blankets off of me before jumping out of bed.

The bathroom door was open so he wasn't in there. I threw our bedroom door open while opening my phone and getting ready to call his dads. I rushed down the stairs and paused on my way to the kitchen. I backed up to the living room entrance and sighed in relief. Axel was dead to the world laying on pillows on the floor. There was a wet spot by his leg and his shorts had ridden up so his thigh was exposed. The blanket was partially over his face and his arm was up over his head resting against the pillow and the couch.

I quietly walked over and carefully started to remove the bandage and ice bags. I winced when I saw just how badly bruised and swollen his knee was. He sucked in a breath of air and jolted awake.

"Time's it?" He mumbled.

"7:15. What time did you come down here?"

"3:40ish. Changed the ice 3 times before I must have fallen asleep. Sorry."

"It's okay. I just set an alarm to get you your meds and you weren't in bed. Had me nervous for a second."

"I didn't wanna bother you. We were up until 2."

"So instead you've had maybe three hours of sleep? You can wake me if you need something."

He whined. "I was fine. No need help."

"Baby, I'm just saying you can wake me up whenever you need. You use to all the time when you'd call or text me because you couldn't sleep."

"Because I would have done stupid shit if I didn't." He pushed himself into a sitting position.

"Oh and you don't now?" I chuckled.

"You're mean." He pouted. "Help me up?"

I stood up and grabbed his hands pulling him up off the floor. He winced when he put weight on his leg but walked past me into the kitchen. He grabbed his pills off the counter and pulled one out of each, leaving him with three pills in his hand. He grabbed a glass from the cupboard and got some water from the sink before downing the pills. I watched as he made a face.

"Ugh. I hate this." He said while rinsing his cup.

"Hate what?"

"The fact that I need all these pills. At least before it was just my bipolar meds. But I had to be stupid and stop taking those."
