Axel'x POV:

I stared down at the ring I now held in my hand. It was a simple silver band with "forever yours" engraved on the inside. My heart was racing and tears were welling up. Grant cleared up that it wasn't an engagement ring, thankfully. Although, at this point, I'd probably have said yes. I know, Grant hurt my feelings, but he apologized and really didn't mean it. Besides with the way our relationship is going, we are bound to be married by the time I'm twenty anyways, probably sooner. I took my eyes off the ring and looked at Grant, who was holding his breath. I handed him the ring, watching as his face fell.

"I love you." I said, taking a step closer.

"But you don't want it. It's okay."

"Grant."

"Really it's okay. It doesn't mean we are breaking up."

"Grant, you're supposed to put it on me." I chuckled.

"Wait, what?"

"I want the ring. Yes, it's not an engagement ring, but I still expect you to put it on my finger. I love you too and agree with everything you said. I want to promise myself to you, too. Even though I have done and will continue to do dumb shit. As long as you never call me dumb again, I accept the ring." I said, holding my right hand out.

He smiled, pulling the ring out of the box and grabbed my hand.

"I promise to never call you or make you feel dumb again. I love you so much. More than words can describe." He said, slowly sliding the ring on my right ring finger.

"Perfect fit." I said in awe.

"Don't doubt me babe. I sized your finger while you were sleeping." He smirked.

"Why am I not surprised?" I laughed.

"Because you know me so well. Now come here." He laughed, pulling me into him.

I smiled and went with it. Looking up at him as he leaned down and pressed a loving kiss to my lips. We both pulled away after a few moments and smiled.

"Maddi is going to freak out." I laughed, looking at the ring. It looked perfect and managed to make my skin look slightly tanned as opposed to my usual paleness.

"She helped me find it."

"Well obviously."

"Hey, now. I can shop." He chuckled, opening the car door for me. I climbed in and buckled watching him walk around to the drivers side.

"You say that but you remember what you got me for my birthday?"

"Shut up. I couldn't get you what I wanted because you refused to acknowledge us as a couple."

"So. You still got me a six pack of caffeine free Pepsi, brownie mix, and a book about Tom Brady. Anything would have been a step up." I laughed, teasing him.

"Hey if we would have been dating like we are now, I would have gotten you the ring then, some sex toys, and probably still would have gotten brownie mix cause I can't bake worth shit. Remember the year Madison and I made you a cake? We all got sick because it was partially raw, and the flour was in clumps and honestly it did not even taste like chocolate, it was so gross."

"I remember, best present I ever got though." I laughed, my face turning red with a blush.

"A nasty raw cake was the best present you have ever gotten?" He glanced over at me. "What about the motorcycle you got for your 17th, or the credit card on your 18th, the guitar I bought you for your 12th birthday?"
