NINA
I did not expect to see Lelan hanging around here as he usually leaves to go out around this time, or as he has been doing lately, mostly staying up in his room.
That woman flirting with him is a piece of work though. Her husband has just left to answer a phone call, not even for twenty minutes and already she had got up the moment Lelan sat down and started to talk to him.
Not that it's any of my business but, I could never understand why people did that.
Doesn't matter since it's none of my concern. What does matter the most right now is that I am hungry and these shelled peanuts are not doing it. So I look over at Lance to try and ask how much longer until he's off, but I notice he's helping a couple of other people, so I continue to just sip on my drink while I wait until he gets off work to take us home after grabbing some dinner first.
Mercedes was going to wait with us but after we finished getting dressed out of our work outfits, she had a headache and couldn't wait for Lance to get off from his double shift, so she took a cab to our place.
When Lelan asked if the seat next to me was taken, I for some reason didn't even think about it and just replied, "no."
Once he sat down, I continued taking sips of my drink and then he started talking to me.
"Hey." He starts.
"Hey." I replied back.
"I thought you would have gone home by now." He mentions.
"I'm waiting for Lance to get off so we can leave." I tell him.
We shared a brief moment of silence before I heard him say something else.
"Have you eaten?" He asks.
"No. We were going to grab something on our way home." I tell him not knowing why I even told him that.
"Well, why don't you and I go and grab something, then I'll take you home afterwards?" He asks.
"Thanks, but...." I began to try and politely object until Lance chimes in and speaks for me.
"That would actually be a good idea. I think I might be hanging out here a little after my shift to help clean up since we are short staffed tonight." He says.
I just look at him with my eyes wide opened not sure why he said that. Although he seems real busy and tired that he doesn't notice what he just suggested. And I am hungry after all. Therefore I suppose I should go ahead and go with it.
"So?" Lelan asks me.
"Alright. Sure." I smiled then we headed outside in the front of the hotel and he had a valet guy go and grab his car and while waiting I began thinking about what his car would look like and I have to be honest, I wasn't surprised that it was the latest Lexus. Not judging him on a bad way, after all, it is a nice car.
We got in and drove down the street a good ways before eventually pulling up in front of a place I have not seen before.
Then again, there are many places I haven't discovered yet in general because I haven't had time to. This place I right away noticed had a line out the door though.
After parking in the small parking lot behind the place, we had gotten out and walked towards the back door to the place.
"What are you doing? We can't just go in there." I try and stop him.
"Don't worry, I know the owner." He chuckles at me a little bit.
"Okay." Was all I could think of to say as he opens the door and has me walk in first.
We right away are greeted by one of the chef's who of course knows him.
"Hey bro." The guy greets him.
"What's up?!" Lelan replies and they shake each other's hands.
"Who's this? Your girlfriend?" He asks.
"No. Hey, is Neil here?" Lelan asks the guy.
"Actually he isn't. He's out of town. But what can I get you guys?"
"Of you could make us a couple of the usual in what I order only add some zucchini and crings with some cheese sauce on the sides. Oh and two drinks please."  Lelan speaks for the both of us and I honestly don't mind it.
"Sorry. I should have asked if you liked burgers first." Lelan apologizes.
"I do actually. Although no offense, this doesn't seem like a typical burger joint." I mention.
"It isn't. It's in between a typical and an upscale type of a burger place. Trust me, it will be the best burger you have ever had." He winks.
We stood there for several more minutes until his friend returned with a couple of bags and tall to-go drinks then started heading back to the car.
We didn't drive too far away when he pulled up in front of the park we sat at eating lunch not too long ago. Then because it was real cold outside, we had the heat on as we stayed in the car, unbuckled and started to eat.
"Sorry it's not in a restaurant. Sometimes I just prefer the privacy." He tells me.
"It"s okay. Doesn't make the food less delicious." I tell him before taking another bite from my delicious burger.
"You should try an onion ring." He offers.
"Thanks." I say while taking one and taking a bite from it.  "Mmm. Really good."
"Told ya." He smiles and winks at me while eating one.
Things seem to be going better than I thought initially they would. Once we were finished, he took me home and offered to walk me to my door.
"Thanks again for the food." I tell him after we stop in front of it.
"You're welcome. Thanks for the company." He says.
We both share a brief moment of silence before I noticed him looking at me in that familiar way again. The look of him wanting to kiss me. Although he did say he wanted to just have a professional relationship.
Soon enough he gets so close that I can feel his breath on my lips and I begin leaning my head forward as well until our lips touch and slowly begin moving our mouths in-sync with one anothers.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
