NINA
I was in complete and utter shock after hearing I was fired. My first day back from being sick and I was fired. What the fuck?!?
Judging by the look upon Mr. Slautton's facial expression when telling me the bad news, I knew that it wasn't his idea and knew exactly who was behind my firing. However, because I didn't want to create a scene, I just handed over my badge that gives me access into the back door then hurried and finished getting dressed into my clothes before tossing the maid outfit straight into the trash and thought they can bill me for it if they want to but I'm done.
After finishing up, I began stepping out through the back door and began to hear Lelan call out from behind me down the hall.
I turn for a second to look at him but then hurry out the door. Due to the fact he is quicker than I am in walking, he catches up and turns me around.
"Hey! Wait!" He says out of breath.
"What?!" I snapped at him.
"You aren't fired." He tries to explain.
"Save it!" I stop him and hold up my hand.
"The last thing I need right now is to hear you apologize for some bullshit that your uncle is behind." I start.
"Look, I promise, I will talk to him." He begins.
"No! There would be no point. And speaking of your uncle, you can tell him that he can have this back!" I fire back at him while shoving the check his uncle had given me the other day along with that bullshit contract he made with my dad's business.
He grabs the check and skims over the papers real quick.
"Nina, I SWEAR on my life that I don't know what's going on but I will fix this. But what's with the check?" He quickly changes the subject while he holds it up.
"Your uncle tried paying me off and break up with you. I told him to go to hell and wanted badly to talk to you about that along with that dumb bullshit contract and then I got sick." I explain.
"Okay, hold up a minute. We'll talk about the check in a minute but what do you mean contract?" He asks while looking at it.
"Like you don't know." I snap at him.
"No!" He fires back confused, genuinely and looks through the papers again. Then he does a double take on the second page.
Why the hell am I still standing here?! Maybe this is a trap or maybe he truly didn't know about it. Then suddenly I see him start to become red and hurries to take hold of my hand to have me follow him towards the parking garage.
"What are you doing?" I asked him.
"We are talking to my uncle right fucking now!" He says angrily.
We hurry and get into his car before he peels out practically out of the garage and onto the road.
"I seriously don't want to see your uncle right now." I try to object.
"Too bad. I need you there to help keep me from hurting him." He states as he begins to white-knuckle the steering wheel.
Eventually, we arrive at the Upscale side of the city and I knew his uncle was living in a building like this where the place is the entire top floor of the building and you pay the same amount, of not more, than you would for a two story house.
After he parked out in front, he walked over to my side and opened the door while the valet guy came up.
"I'd rather not...." I started to protest but he wasn't having it and Lelan helped me out of the car then held onto my hand tightly as we made our way through the lobby and into the elevator where he pressed a button that took us straight up to the top floor and as the doors opened up, we stepped right into his uncle's place and holy shit, was this place fancy.
Tons of gold trimmings along with some statues and a fireplace in between the kitchen and dining area and the living room.
"Uncle?!" Lelan began yelling out.
"What is it?" Lelan's uncle comes walking out casually and removes his glasses as he greets Lelan with worry but then see's me and seems to look upset.
"What the hell have you done?!" Lelan started in on him.
"What are you talking about?" His uncle tries playing dumb.
"Don't do that." Lelan snaps at him again. "You have NO right firing her, for one thing. Another thing is that you need to stay the hell out of my personal shit and as far as this bullshit lie you fed to Nina with her father's business, NOT to mention the fucked up check you wrote to her, if I have to, I swear I will take you to court for everything you've got!" Lelan states.
His uncle looks surprised and shocked. Honestly, I too was feeling a bit surprised that Lelan was standing up to his uncle and it was over me.
"I was looking out for what was best for you. Not to mention that I didn't lie about the contract. You signed it after agreeing to the idea." He smirks at Lelan.
"You know that's bullshit! Not to forget the fact that this so called 'signature of mine' isn't mine. It's been forged. In which I am sure the court would LOVE to hear all about." Lelan fires back at him.
I'm just standing in the corner, behind Lelan and watching what all is happening right now. I feel as though none of this is really happening because let's be honest, things like this don't happen. Or at least, I have never seen anything like this before.
I won't lie though, I'm a little bit worried to see how this will end.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
