𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐈 sat up in the comfortable bed. I looked to my right, seeing Marco sleeping, the events of last night came flooding back to me. I gasped in shock, remembering Lila. She must be worried sick.

Noticing my phone on the side table, I picked it up and unlocked it, clicking onto my messages app. I had three calls from Lila and around a hundred of worried messages asking where I was. I pressed Lila's contact number and waited for her to pick up the phone.

Five rings later, she picked up, her angry face coming into view as she screamed at me, "Where were you?! I was so worried! Why did you not reply to any of my messages or calls?"

I laughed dryly, "It's a long story. I don't want to freak you out, but I'm at the hospital right now."

Lila's hand flew to her mouth, "Oh my gosh. What happened?"

"Nothing much," I replied giving her a reassuring smile. Marco yawned from the corner he was sitting in and stood up, "Who's that?"

I paused for a moment before replying, "My sister."

He suddenly looked more alert and seemed as if he wanted to say something. Lila spoke from the other end of the phone, "Is that a guy with you?"

I paused, "Yeah. Lila, this is Marco, Marco, this is Lila."

Marco's face popped up on the screen and his eyes filled with tears as he gazed at Lila. Confused, I looked at him as Marco whispered, "My girls..."

Freezing, I stopped breathing for a second, "I'm sorry, your what?"

Lila also seemed puzzled. Marco shook his head, "Never mind," he mumbled, embarrassed. I frowned, studying his face, "Dad?"

Lila froze, "Dad? Akira, what do you mean?"

Marco had collapsed into a nearby chair, and I decided it was up to me to fill her in on what happened. As I explained, Marco looked at me with love in his eyes, "I can't believe it," he kept repeating to himself.

Once Lila was filled in, she looked shocked, "So you're telling me that our father was alive that whole time and we didn't have to go and live with our Aunt and Uncle?"

I nodded my head in a daze, "Yeah, pretty much."

Finally, Marco stopped mumbling words under his breath and stood up, coming to stand next to me, "You can come and live with me if you want to."

Lila looked positively delighted, "Yes please! That would be wonderful."

A ringing noise sounded from his pocket and Marco fished out his phone, sending an apologetic look our way, "Excuse me for a second."

He stepped outside of my room and spoke in a hushed tone with the other person on the line. I exchanged a quick glance with Lila and gave her a small smile, "Hopefully, I'll be out of here by the end of the day. Can you get to school without me?"

Lila smiled at me, "Of course I can. I can drive as well you know."

I gave her a glare, "I better not find any scratches on you or my car when I get back."

Lila gave me a mock salute, "Of course. Your car is safe with me. I have to go now. Bye Kiki!"

She hung up the phone and I smiled, laying back into the comfy pillows behind me. Marco entered the room shortly after and gave me a curt grin, "I'm really sorry about this, but I have to go on a quick business trip. I'll pick you girls up in about a fortnight alright?"

I raised my eyebrows curiously, "Alright then... give me your phone number so I can text you the address when you come back."

Marco quickly gave his phone number to me and started to leave when he paused near the doorway, "By the way, you've been discharged already. You should be able to walk, your leg might give you some issues though."
