**3rd person POV**

𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 things must come to an end one day.

That was something Akira Romano had learnt from a young age.

Having to trade her childhood for something far darker and sinister. The underground. Gone were the days chasing her sister in the sun and baking cookies with her mother. Now it was replaced with drills, men shouting at her to fight, fight, fight.

She loved her mother, but lately Elena had been getting progressively worse with her drinking habits. Stumbling into the house past midnight and collapsing on the couch. Their family wasn't perfect, but it was good enough for the twins.

And then their mother had died.

Murdered in cold blood, right in front of the seven-year-old Akira's eyes.

From that day on, she pushed herself past her limits, working longer hours just so she could get that extra income, and dedicating herself to her work so that she could rise up in the ranks. The only way to survive in that world after all was to have power.

Without power, you were nothing.

Get up and fight. Kill this person and that one. Soon, it had become second nature to her. Whilst Lila studied so she could get a better life in the future, Akira poured her emotions into her job, slaughtering with lethal precision.

A sinner was what she was. What she is. What she always had believed herself to be. Nothing more, nothing less.

It wasn't until she met her best friends in the program, that woke something inside her. Changed what she thought, gave her courage to fight back albeit silently. She had resorted to helping those that were innocent, hiding them away and gifting them with new lives.

They had found out somehow. And she was punished. Every. Single. Time.

She couldn't stop, nor did she move down the ranks for her disobedience. Why would they transfer their greatest asset? She just needed a mental reform.

That time, she spent the whole weekend in isolation, returning home only to be screamed at by her uncle and aunt.

The IAP leader, Declan Charles, leader of the American mafia had made the mistake of believing that she was reformed. He made the mistake of trusting her with the most important mission.

Akira descended into the room stealthily. Team Lilac had been planning the mission for months, conducting stakeouts, and memorizing the layout of the buildings. Nothing could go wrong. Nothing was allowed to go wrong.

All she had to do was go in, hack a computer, get the codes, and leave.

The man was out on his lunch break, and she had a total of 45 minutes to complete the mission. Silently, she dropped to the ground, praying that her team members had disabled the cameras, as she adjusted her mask and tugged her hood lower.

Hurrying over to the computer, she opened the lid, waiting for it to turn on and for 08 to tell her the password. She had to admit, the man's cybersecurity was good. He changed his password constantly, meaning that 08 had to decipher it as fast as they could, so not to lose time.

Her earpiece crackled, as 08 relayed the information to her. Akira pulled her gloves over her fingers, before she put the password in, waiting with bated breath for the computer to reveal its secrets.

As soon as the desktop unlocked, her fingers flew over the keys, as she searched for the codes. She checked the files first, working meticulously through each document. When it yielded nothing, she opened the man's emails, scanning each correspondence, her heart sinking each time she found nothing.
