Frigga and I walk arm in arm into the main dining hall. Right in the centre of the room, a long table stretched out, filling almost the entire space. Roughly, I can estimate it probably had around thirty chairs seated around it. I gulp nervously, thinking about how many people will be here soon.

Me and Frigga were early on purpose so no one had arrived yet, and together with Lady Sif, who I was just introduced to and she is lovely, we start helping the wait staff set the table. Frigga had told me that she always likes to help out because queen or not, she finds a greater appreciation for the things she has around her if she's there to personally help get it sorted.
Which I thought was super sweet.

I was arranging some flowers in the middle of the table when Lady Sif joins me, passing me each flower as I put them into the vase.

"So, Safie. You're the reason Loki is no longer exiled?" She asks, raising one of her perfectly shaped brows at me.
"Um, I wouldn't say that really. It was my idea for him to join the Avengers, like Thor. But I wouldn't have had that idea without him showing that he was genuinely a good person." I reply, shrugging.
"Loki is not a good person." She hisses and I'm taken back by it. "He's the God of Mischief. And with that comes the lies, the deceit, the betrayal and the literal backstabbing."
"I understand why you'd see it that way... but I'm good at uh... reading people, I guess. I can usually tell who is genuinely good or just pretending and in the same way I can tell when someone is actually a bad person or if it's just a wall they've put up around themselves."

Sif just huffs at my response, saying nothing further about Loki and instead turning back to pleasant conversation about earth and Asgard.
Thank god.

As we finish setting the table, Odin walks in. The wait staff bow their heads to him as he strides over to us.
"Frigga, my love. You look radiant." He smiles, putting his arm around her waist. "You've done a wonderful job with this, I love the flowers."
"Thank you, but Safie did the flowers for us dear." She smiles at me.
"A woman of many talents. My child, they are wonderful. You look beautiful in that dress, the colour suits you well." Odin smiles at me and I blush as I thank him, still in awe that I'm even here on Asgard let alone talking to the Allfather.

"Is there somewhere I can step outside for a moment please?" I ask Frigga and she points me in the direction of a balcony round the corner from the dining hall, she offered to join me but I politely declined, I just needed a breather before the feast and the ball.

I stand on the balcony, my arms resting on the chiselled stone railing as I gaze over the horizon, happy in the cool evening breeze.

"Darling, are you okay?"
I turn around to the familiar voice and see Loki at the doorway, dressed in his full Asgardian armour, complete with his emerald green lined cloak.

"Oh my heavens... you look absolutely beautiful Safie. Stunning." Loki smiles at me as he walks over to me, stroking the hair softly from my face.
"Thank you my Prince, you look very handsome yourself." I blush.
"My Prince?" He smirks.
"Seems fitting, you certainly look like royalty when you're dressed like this."
"Oh you like it?" He grins, spinning around with his arms out.
"I like it very much Loki." I laugh. "Truly, you look incredible."
"I look like a mere begger in comparison to you." He coos, kissing my hand. "Shall we?"
I nod as I place my hand in his and we walk together back to the dining hall.

The entire room is filled with people, Odin was at the head of the table looking as regal as ever with Frigga on his right and Thor on his left. Thor beams at us as we walk in and jumps up to greet us.
