Prompt 5:  "You could rip my heart out of my chest and I'll still love you till the end of the world"

You never should have been friends with a merman, and now you were paying the price. According to stories, mermen and mermaids were kind, helpful and beautiful. And they could sing very well too. However, reality isn't a fantasy, and that was something you should have thought about before you actually became friends with a merman 

It all started on one regular, normal sunny day. You just finished your work and you were in a mood to relax. You usually weren't the type of person to go to the beach to relax, you preferred to curl up on the couch with a good book or chill with some Netflix. However your mom pestered you to get out and get some fresh air for a while and kicked you out of the house for a few hours. Sighing to yourself, you decided to go somewhere to relax. You first thought about going to your favorite public library to read books there but it was closed for lunch. You then saw a beach a few miles away and you decided to go to the beach instead 

You were surprised that there was no one at the beach and you wondered if there was some sort of serial killer on the loose at first. Then, you finally got over your paranoia and you sat on one of the rocks on the beach, just looking at the ocean and the ocean waves, touching the sand of the beach and you had to admit, you felt a little more... calm and peaceful. It was like you forgot all of your problems after staring at the waves and the ocean. You were now in the mood to start singing and you sang one of your favorite songs 

At that time, there was a merman with blonde hair, striking blue eyes and a blue tail who was watching you. Mermaids and mermen have a really good sense of hearing and when he heard someone singing, he was curious to know who it was, who was the mystery person who had such a beautiful and angelic voice? He swam up ashore and took a little peek at you from the oceans and he saw the most beautiful human ever, with an even more of a beautiful voice. He climbed up to one of the rocks and stared at you as you sang your heart out, and did a little dance too since you thought no one was there and the merman who was mesmerized by your personality smiled to himself, thinking that you did indeed look very cute. When you finally turned back after doing your little dance, you saw the merman staring at you from one of the rocks there and you stumbled back in surprise. The merman on one hand was embarrassed that he had been caught but on the other hand he was glad he'd finally got the chance to introduce himself to you 

The both of you spent some time talking with each other and he'd introduced himself as 'Steve'. You thought it was a nice name and when you told him so, he just blushed and muttered a 'thanks'. You soon decided it was time for you to go and he felt like his heart was shattering to pieces. What? You were going to leave him!? But you both were only getting started! He still had to tell you so much about him, his family and the world under the ocean so you'll be prepared when you marry him and become his wife! But you told him you'd be back the next day and he trusted you. He didn't really have a choice. The next day when you came, he collected some shells and other things from the ocean to give it to you and you looked at it in wonder. You sometimes had to ask yourself if you were dreaming since you were friends with an actual Merman, and you smiled to yourself slightly, wondering how people would react if you told them you were friends with a merman

You both would meet at the beach everyday and Steve grew really close with you. He was waiting for the right opportunity to ask you to marry him and become his wife/husband when you suddenly sprung the news on him that you had to leave to another country since you got a job offer there. You wouldn't be able to see him anymore and now, he finally snapped. He was being a willing husband for you till now, allowing to leave him and go anywhere and everywhere you wanted, despite it being too dangerous for you and where someone could harm you. At first he put forth drama with so many tears and pleadings, it was actually worthy of winning a freaking Oscar

But you felt bad and you told him maybe one day you'd see each other again but he wasn't having it. He grabbed your hand and took you to the ocean with him and when you struggled and screamed for him to let you go, he just kissed you when you were in the water. Your eyes closed for a moment and when you reopened them, you were underwater and somehow you were actually breathing? You'd be amazed right now if you weren't so scared. What was the merman planning on doing to you? Was he going to kill you or something? Your friend Steve gleefully explained that he kissed you and transferred some powers to you which you could breathe underwater. You felt a bit thick between your fingers and your body felt a bit lighter too. When you looked at yourself you started freaking out and panicking, you'd turned into a mermaid! You wanted to go home and you sobbed and pleaded and begged him to make you a human back again but he just cooed at you and kissed your cheek, telling you how he's finally going to have you as his wife/husband

You gritted your teeth and called him a monster and started saying things like 'I never should have trusted a monster like you' and 'I hate you' and stuff like that. As much as he felt deeply hurt, that his lovely wife/ husband hated the hell out of him, he was sure that you'd come around. He cupped your cheek gently and said "You could rip my heart out of my chest and I'll still love you till the end of the world" and you stared at him in horror, wondering what he and fate had in store for you
