Irene's grandfather's disciple was naturally happy and willing to help her out.
His house was located just a short distance away from the Bae family's old house. As soon as she entered the courtyard, Irene could smell the strong scent of herbs and medicine.
The old Korean medicine practitioner was reading the newspaper with the aid of a magnifying glass when Irene walked in. The old man quickly put aside his magnifying glass and looked at her before asking, "Why have you suddenly decided to come and learn about Korean medicine from me?"
"Grandpa Tan, I need to learn about Korean medicine for my upcoming role in an ancient drama. However, I am also very keen to learn any relevant skills from a wise man like you," Irene said as she smiled at the old man. "This place still looks and feels the same as it was before. Nothing has changed."
"Have you received any news about your father in the past few years?" the old man suddenly asked Irene.
Irene shook her head before replying, "No. I have already made countless number of trips to the place he was last seen, but there has been no news about him at all. There is probably nothing else that we can do right now."
"It is okay," the old man quickly replied. "Since you are willing to learn from me, I am willing to impart my knowledge and skills to you. Just come over whenever you have time—I am always here."
"Thank you, Grandpa Tan."
The old man looked at Irene with something to say to her, but he chose to remain silent in the end as not to disappoint her. .
"Are you in a relationship now?"
"Yes, I am," Irene replied as she nodded her head.
"Do not date anyone from the entertainment industry. There are no good men in that industry," the old man said as he glared at Irene.
"It is not a man Grandpa Tan, it's a woman. She is not from the entertainment industry. She is the best woman in the whole world," Irene replied as she pulled a cheeky face.
Irene spent the whole afternoon learning some basic knowledge on Korean medicine from the old man in his courtyard. In the evening, she suddenly received a phone call from Lisa.
"CL said that you have not gone home today. Where are you?"
"I will send you the address," Irene replied as she texted Grandpa Tan's address to Lisa.
"Do not ask your girlfriend to come over. She will not be welcomed," the old man said in a grouchy manner.
"Is that so?" Irene replied in a mysterious manner. After about half an hour, Lisa's black sedan parked in front of Grandpa Tan's house. Irene ran out to the car to get Lisa before bringing him to see Grandpa Tan.
"Isn't this Lisa?" Grandpa Tan asked as soon as he saw Lisa.
"Grandpa Tan, I am sorry if Irene has caused any inconvenience to you," Lisa said as he reached out his hand to shake the old man's hand.
Lisa had previously met Grandpa Tan several times in the past when he would drop by the Bae family mansion to play chess with Irene's grandfather.
"You are Irene's girlfriend?" the old man asked as he stared at the both of them with a strange expression on his face.
"Yes, I am."
"How about this woman, grandpa Tan? Will ahe be welcomed in your house then?"
"You little brat..." Grandpa Tan replied as he knocked Irene on her head. He turned around to look at Lisa before saying, "You can bring her home now. She is starting to get a little annoying."
