The next day, Zara woke up to loud yelling coming from down. She turns over to see Liam gone, so she rushes down stair to see what was happening. As soon as she gets downstairs she see Liam pull his fist from the wall.

"What's going on?"

Zara pulls him away from their mom, she was beyond angry.

"Someone got suspended yesterday, so i grounded him."

Their mom cut in, shouting at them.

"For what?"

Zara asked Liam but he turned around and ran upstairs. She turns to her mom waiting for answers.

"A fight, another fight."

Her mom shouted at her, as she slams a rag on the table. This has been happening a lot, and only has gotten worst since their dad died. Liam has always been a 'problem child' but nobody ever knew it would get this bad. Zara rolled her eyes in disappointment, but continued to get herself ready for school. She rushed to eat the last piece of toast on the plate.

"Wait before you go."

Her mom said, pulling something out of her pocket then sliding it across the table to her. When Zara looked down an annoyed look covered her face. It was a dance ticket, something she has been telling her mom since 6th grade she would never go too. She tries to ignore it, continuing to sip the last sip of her drink.

"Just this one year, I want to see my daughter get all dressed up and go to her first ever dance."

Her mom actually seemed excited. Zara didn't know weather to be annoyed or glad her mom finally is giving her attention.

"Fine."

Zara finally caves him, deeply regretted it as soon as it came out of her mouth. Her mom began jumping up and down in excitement. Her mom gave her a deep warm hug. At first Zara wanted to pull back. Unused to her mother touch but eventually fell deeply into it.

After school, Zara walked out the school alone. Barley paying attention to where she was going, just texting until she bumped into someone causing her phone to drop. Before she looked up she sees them go for her phone it was Allison. She holds her phone for a while, almost like she was trying to read it but as soon as Zara caught on she snatched it back. She waited for Allison to get out of her way but she didn't. She just stood there awkwardly and quiet, almost like she was waiting for something.

"I-I'm sorry?"

Zara said confusingly waiting for Allison to just move.

"No- um- what are doing later on today?"

Allison asked.

"I have to check on a.. my friend , he's been—busy lately... why?"

Zara was actually talking about Derek, she didn't know what to called him. He definitely wasn't her friend.

"Me and Lydia are going dress shopping and I wanted to see him you would want to go."

Allison asked, her voice sounded so pure and a smile bloomed across her face. As much a Zara tried to hide it her face was covered in disgust.
