Ryu was skating towards Vermillion City as last time he had heard Leaf and Gary had already headed there in a rush.
Ryu: DAMNIT I KNEW I SHOULD'VE GONE THE SHORT PATH!!!
Nidorino: NIDORINO?!
Ryu: BECAUSE WE MADE A BET ON WHICH ONE OF US COULD BEAT THE GYM CHALLENGE FIRST!! NO WAY IN HELL I'M LOSING 20,000 POKE DOLLARS!!!
The city was up ahead as Ryu didn't bother slowing down until they were right in front of the gym.
Ryu: Nidorino, I think you'll be able to sit this out.
They walked in as when they did Ryu could automatically tell that this was a bit of a Military Gym. Though he could also automatically tell that no one there acted as such.
Ryu: Alright, where's the Gym Leader?
Trainer1: Woah, you've got some spunk little dude.
Trainer2: You really think you can beat Lt Surge?
Ryu: Yup.
Trainer2: Alright boss, a new challenger is here!!
Ryu looked over as a man with blonde hair and a military outfit walked over.

Ryu looked up seeing there was a 2 foot difference between them.
Ryu: That dude's a fucking unit.
Surge: So this guy is the one I'll be facing?
Ryu: Uh huh.
Surge: Okay baby!
He put his hand on Ryu's shoulder.
Ryu: -_- I'm 6 feet tall, I don't think I can count as a baby.
Surge: I call everyone who loses to me baby!
He thought back for a moment.
Surge: But there were these other two trainers that actually managed to beat me.
Ryu: DAMNIT IT I'M BEHIND!!
Surge: You telling me you know those two?
Ryu: Yes!! Sorry to rush ya but I'm sorta in a hurry. Let's do this!
Surge: Alright! Go Pokeball!!
He threw a Pokeball as from it came a Raichu.
Raichu: Rai!!
Ryu: Thought so. Sandslash, time for battle!!
He sent out Sandslash as it stood ready for battle.
Surge: A Sandslash Eh? Alright Raichu, give it a Thunder Bolt!!
Raichu: RAICHU!!!
Raichu let out powerful lightning bolt as it connected with Sandslash. But to the rest surprise Sandslash yawned as if nothing was happening.
