Chapter 19: Ruby vs Gary!

The remaining 8 Trainers in the Indigo League.

Announcer: YOU SEE IT HERE FOLKS!! THESE ARE THE TRAINERS THAT HAVE ADVANCED TO THE QUARTER FINALS!!

Everyone was cheering for the eight teens on the battle field.

Ash: 'It's almost time.'

Ryu: 'Just two more matches before hand he finals.'

Each trainer down there

Trainers: 'And I'll be the one to win it all.'

They looked up as a randomizer had all of their faces. A moment later it stopped revealing who was going to face who.

RYU VS AJ!!

LEAF VS DAK!!

GARY VS RUBY!!

ASH VS JADE!!

Ryu looked over seeing AJ.

Ryu: 'I'm guessing that's the dude Ash told me about. From what I've heard he's got a strong Sandshrew with Fissure. No matter what I'm not gonna let it get the chance.'

AJ: 'I'll bring him and those Legendary Pokémon down.'

Gary: 'I'm going up against Ruby?'

The rose haired girl simply looked up at Gary's face on the screen.

Ruby: 'One thing's for sure, this battle is gonna be a tough one.'

TIME SKIP!!

The first battle had commenced as Ryu and AJ were going at it. Currently AJ had gone through two Pokémon and was on his third which was a Beedrill, while Ryu still was only using a single Pokémon. This yet again was a new catch, a Primape. It was tired but so was Beedrill.

AJ: Beedrill, use X-Scissor!!

Beedrill flew towards Primape as Ryu thought fast.

Ryu: Primape, Mega Punch!!

The two attacks clashed as a second later both Pokémon were out cold.

Ref: It's a draw!! This makes it Ryu 3 and AJ down to 1!!

Misty: Wow, AJ is having a lot of trouble here.

Brock: It is Ryu after all. Who wouldn't?

Erika: But it's also amazing how this is the first Pokémon he's lost the entire Indigo League.

AJ: You're good, but don't think you have me backed into a corner!!

Ryu: I don't have to think anything. You beat one of my newly caught Pokémon that isn't up to the level of my strongest Pokémon. Pretty obvious who's gonna with this.

AJ: We'll see!!

They both grabbed Pokeballs.

AJ: GO SANDSHREW!!

Ryu: GALE!!

They called the Pokémon on as a Pidgeot immediately took to the air and the yellow ground mouse looked up at it.

AJ: A flying type huh?

Leaf: Well, it's about over.

Ash: Now the chances of Fissure hitting is absolute zero. Ryu's using the one advantage he has to the fullest.

AJ: It's not like we're new to dealing with Flying Types!! Sandshrew, Rock Fall!!

Rocks appeared above Pidgeot starting to fall.

Ryu: And it's not like I don't have a counter for Rock Type moves. Gale, Protect!

A shield appeared around Gale as the rocks just bounced off and onto the ground.
