Ryu: To say Spenser having Suicune was a shock is an understatement.
Ryu Zoro and Ruby were currently at a Pokémon Center, healing their Pokémon as per usual.
Zoro: Yeah, but shockingly that wasn't the most amazing thing we saw. Mudkip evolved into Marshtomp, and right after you showed how strong Electivire is.
Ryu: Yeah, he's definitely making his way up there in power. Even Blade and Nova need to ramp up their training.
Zoro: Anyway, speaking of evolved Pokémon, what do you plan to do with Eevee?
Ryu: Pfft, you expect me to choose?
Ruby: Huh?
Ryu: I'm letting Eevee chose what he want to evolve into. He does really want to gain power like the way my other Pokémon have, but hasn't found the right path.
Zoro: Really?
Ryu: He'll evolve when he's ready.
Right then, Nurse Joy came out with the group's Pokémon.
Nurse Joy: Here we are! All of your Pokémon are in top shape now!
They took their Pokeballs, as Blade and Nova immediately came out of their Balls.
Ryu: You both REALLY hate being stuck in those.
???: Man, this is a nice coincidence.
Everyone turned, seeing a familiar Trainer.
Ryu: Gary!
Gary: Long time no see guys! Zoro, I didn't know you'd be traveling with these two.
Zoro: Someone's gotta keep an eye on these two.
Ryu: Oh please you nearly got us killed cause of your horrible sense of direction!!
Gary: I don't doubt that. How are you doing with the Battle Frontier.
Ryu: It's going great. I've got 2 more Symbols before I've beaten the whole thing.
Gary: Sounds like you've been working.
Ruby: What about you? After the party for Ryu's victory, Professor Oak said you went off to train.
Gary: I did. Ryu isn't the only one who wants to prepare for a chance to face the Elite Four and Champion you know.
Ryu: So I'm guessing that means-
Gary: I'm planning on winning the Silver Conference in Johto.
Zoro: Shooting big aren't you?
Gary: Trust me, I know. Lance is also the Champion there, so I realize I'll already have to compete with a total monster.
Ryu: I mean hey, I won't be competing so you have a decent shot.
Ruby: Cocky.
Gary: Very funny! Like gramps said, I've been training!!
Ryu: Oh you know your track record against me!
Gary: Fine then, once I heal my Pokémon, let's save a Battle!!
Ryu: You're on!!
Zoro: Well that escalated quickly.
Ruby: Man, now I wanna battle too!
TIME SKIP!!
After Gary's Pokémon were healed, he and Ryu were in the back where a battle field was ready.
Gary: Let's make it a one on one.
Ryu: Fine by me.
Ryu grabbed an Ultra Ball with a smirk, as Gary grabbed a Pokeball in response.
