About a week had passed as Ryu and Erika started traveling together. In that time Ryu had searched for the next Pokémon to add to his team.
Ryu: Nah, nothing really stands out to me right now.
Erika: Are you sure? We passed by a few strong bug type Pokémon.
Ryu: Ok one, there are only a few Bug Type Pokémon I would ever consider putting on my team. The lack of balance most of them have would be pretty offsetting to my team. A Pokémon like Scizor has a lot of resilience to eight typings but has a four times weakness to fire. So even he might be iffy cause I know there's gonna be some powerful Fire Type Pokémon showing up in my journey.
Erika: Ah...
Erika seemed slightly dumbfounded hearing this.
Ryu: Also, I REALLY could live without most of them.
Erika: Bad Beedrill experience?
Ryu: -_- More like a Pinsir incident that I will never allow myself to relive.
He shivered a bit as Erika then and there thought of what could actually cause someone like the reckless trainer in front of her to shiver.
Erika: 'Is that the same guy who literally used intimidate right back at an Arbok?'
For those wondering about that, let's have a little flashback.
FLASHBACK!!
Ryu was up in a tree after seeing an Oran Berry. Nidoking and Charizard were just patiently waiting at the base of the tree while Erika was just admiring the nature as she looked around before seeing an Oddish.
Erika: Awww, hey there little guy!
The Oddish smiled seeing Erika before its expression turned to one of shock and fear.
Erika: ... This is gonna be a BAD idea isn't it?
Against her better judgment she had turned around and was met by a hissing Arbok.
Arbok: HSSS!!! ARBOK!!
Erika: AHHHHHH!!!!
It tried biting her but thankfully Erica moved out of the way.
Erika: Ok, Victreebel, I choose-
Ryu: I'm back.
Ryu was walking over to Erika while eating the Oran Berry and his two partners walked beside him.
Ryu: *Bite* Man this one's sweet, and pretty juicy too.
Erika: Ryu watch out for the Arbok!!
The Pokémon set its sights on Ryu as it lunged forward to the Trainer. Surprisingly though Ryu gave the purple snake a glare that could only be described as an intimidate coming from a Gyrados. This caused Arbok to freeze mid air before dropping to the ground and slithering away.
Ryu: Smart move.
He took another bite of the berry as Erika questioned many things that day.
FLASHBACK OVER!!
They continued walking as they had gotten to a bridge. Past it was the Fuchsia City Gym as Ryu seemed annoyed.
Ryu: *Sigh* That's just gonna be a pain in the ass. What kind psycho makes a gym out in a place like this?
Erika: Hahaha, Koga that's who! Though his daughter took over the Gym after he became an Elite Four member!
Ryu: Well I beat them all the same. Not to brag but the worse I've done in my journey so far is a draw. With whom you will not believe. Come back guys.
