After going to bed earlier than usual, Taeyong found himself waking up for the first time without feeling exhausted.

Finding himself laying on Jaehyun while the taller slept on his back placed a smile on his face. This comfort, this peace.

It was like they've done this many times before when actually it's been the second night he's slept in his bed.

Taeyong rested his head back on Jaehyun's chest, drawing circles with his finger on the porcelain skin as he fell into thought.

He questioned if he could ever go back to how things were before. When he never met Jaehyun, having to juggle the boys with work, finding people to look after them.

Not only that, the constant pressure of Mr Hwang and the deadline on the adoptive process of Jaemin and Jisung was simply devastating. If it wasn't for Jaehyun and his kindness... he can't think of where he'd be right now.

"What you thinking about?" A low, raspy voice asked, invading Taeyong's train of thought and making him smile.

He slowly glanced up to see Jaehyun's tired yet still handsome face look down at him before resting it back on the pillow, inhaling deeply.

"It felt like you were writing rituals on my body." Jaehyun's chuckled, his deep, mellow voice making Tae's heart skip.

Taeyong smiled, continuing to draw circles with his fingers on Jaehyun's body before his lips turned into a distant frown.

"I was just thinking of where I'd be if I never met you... I would have lost a lot. Jaemin and Jisung-" he stopped for a moment as his tears blurred his vision, "-they would be taken away from me."

Large arms wrapped around Taeyong, squeezing him tight for reassurance. Jaehyun undoubtably knows how much those two boys meant to Taeyong.

They were his world, and he knew in that moment he'd do anything in his power to make sure they'll never be taken away.

"That reminds me." Jaehyun spoke while Taeyong rubbed his eyes, soothed by Jaehyun's support, "We need to get my things from the apartment and bring it here."

"Are you going to sell it, the apartment?" Taeyong asked, earning a head shake from the taller.

"I have a better idea. My two friends who work for me at the cafe are in need for a new place, Mark and Haechan. It's already been bought off by me so they can just stay there."

It did feel weird to Jaehyun that he couldn't think of some deal that benefits him from them staying at his place.

"Are they paying you rent for staying there then?" Taeyong asked.

"No." Jaehyun said, "I'm their boss. It's weird for me to pay them just so they can pay me with my own money back. I can't think of a deal that could work."

Taeyong thought on it for a moment, "What about a negotiation? If we ever needed a babysitter for a day where we both got out, maybe they could look after the boys?"

"Actually, that's not a bad idea. I just hope they will behave for them two."

Jaehyun rubbed Taeyong's arms soothingly before leaning over and giving a soft peck on his forehead.
