"Who's birthday is it again?" Jaehyun groaned as he woke up from his comfortable sleep, reaching over and burying his tired face into Taeyong's neck.

"It's Jungwoo's and Lucas' boy, Chenle. He's younger than Jaemin, I think two months older than Jisung." Taeyong smiled, rubbing Jaehyun's hands that cupped his clothed tummy.

"Come on, it's time to get up. We need to leave early to grab my order from the store before arriving at the party, which starts at 1pm may I add." Taeyong reminded, he was not one to be late to an event, no matter what it was.

Jaehyun didn't budge, and it took a lot of prying off hands to escape the grasp of the taller's hands, who whined to the absence of the red head beside him.

After much moping around, everyone managed to get ready by 11am and leave the building immediately.

Climbing into the passenger seat, Taeyong glanced behind him, watching Jaehyun double check both boys were buckled in before climbing into the drivers seat.

It hadn't occurred to Taeyong till now how much Jaehyun had fit the role of a parent, a father at least. He always drove Taeyong, he did shopping trips, watched the boys when he worked, comforts him in times of need.

He did everything, and it made him feel like he has done nothing for him. He has done nothing.

It was shocking how he piled all of his weight onto the younger's shoulders without batting an eyelid. That's not his nature at all.

No matter what weight, he'd always carry it without asking for help. Why did he suddenly change after he met Jaehyun?

The sound of the ignition drew him out of thought, Jaehyun taking his hand and interlocking his fingers once they were on the road.

"Double check we have everything. Card, boys, recipe for the order." Jaehyun listed, making Taeyong smile.

"We have everything, you can relax now Jae, we will get there on time so I'm not going to bite your head off."

Jaehyun smiled and checked in the mirrors, "Yep. I'm still one piece, thank god." Earning a playful slap after the boys giggled from his dad's humour.

Arriving within the city around 11:45am, they still had another half an hour to an hour journey to the other side of the city, where Jungwoo and Lucas lived.

It was the Taeyong's old hometown before he moved away on his own and ventured out on his career path.

He couldn't remember the last time he had been there, and he was thankful that when he is going back, he was going with Jaehyun.

The red head was drawn out of thought once again by his phone pinging from a message, he unlocked his hand from Jaehyun's before reaching in his pocket and pulling out his phone.

His smiled briefly at his background image before seeing the notification under Doyoung's name.

"Oh dear." Taeyong muttered, catching Jaehyun's attention who quickly glanced at the older before back at the road.

"Oh dear? That doesn't sound good. Did we forgot something? Is someone hurt?" He asked.

Taeyong shook his head, "Jungwoo is having a breakdown after burning the food, now not being able to cook because he is drinking to make himself feel better, forgetting he needed to pick up the cake somehow."
