"I feel awful doing that to Jaemin." Jaehyun whispered as he sat on the end of the bed, rubbing the back of his neck.
Taeyong sat beside the taller and rubbed his back for comfort.
"You did the right thing, and so well too. I did say he can be really bad sometimes and you wouldn't hear the end of it from him... except for you, he really listens to you." Taeyong praised.
Jaehyun scoffed, "He only listened to me because he's scared of me."
"That's not true." Taeyong assured, "He respects and looks up to you. There's a difference."
"How can you be so sure?" Jaehyun asks. Taeyong stood up and straddles Jaehyun's legs, wrapping his arms around his neck.
"Well, since day one he's called you Dad and since then he has practically been glued to you. He always talks about you like you're his everything, and you are. If he feared you, nothing would matter, he wouldn't run up to you to hide and ask you to play with him, would he?"
Jaehyun nodded. He knows that Taeyong is right in what he says, he just doesn't like using that tone and he felt like he over did it.
Taeyong curiously tilts his head to meet Jaehyun's eyes, "I'm not sure what you told him off about, but he hasn't brought it up since. "
"It was about winning a gold fish. If we lived in Florida it wouldn't be a problem. But trying to bring a gold fish on a lengthy train and plane journey is just setting it up for unnecessary suffering and death."
Taeyong nodded, definitely agreeing with Jaehyun's answer.
"You're right. Though, I have contemplated for a while about buying the boys a pet of their own..." Taeyong trailed off.
The red head silenced himself as his eyes watched Jaehyun stare down at their laps, distanced in that beautiful mind.
The older unlinked one of his arms from the taller's neck, letting his hand guide Jaehyun's head up before slowly pressing his lips upon those tasteful plump ones.
Jaehyun inhaled, closing his eyes as he was drawn out of his thoughts. Large hands slid up Taeyong's back before falling back down and resting on his thighs.
Finally pulling away, Taeyong rested his forehead upon the taller's, longingly staring into those honey brown eyes.
They looked so different in the moment. They were still dreamy, so soft and love filled yet they look so heavy. So downcast, almost like they were disappointed.
"Why do you look at me like that?" Taeyong whispered, Jaehyun's eyes drifted down from Taeyong's sudden question.
The older watched intently as he noticed the slight quiver of the lower lip. Before he knew it, Jaehyun had rested his palms over his eyes and laid down, leaving Taeyong to remain straddled.
The quiet sadness filled the room out of muffled sobbing, Taeyong was speechless in this moment. Was it something he said?
Taeyong crawled over to Jaehyun, hands on the bed either side of Jae's head as he looked down upon the younger that was trying to suppress his tears.
