It's been a few weeks so the holidays are finally over. Harry and I received many letters and packages from our relatives abroad. Uncle Moony still hasn't written to me about Nicholas Flamel. He said he'd write to me if he remembers anything.

We were in the library researching more on Nicholas Flamel. Classes were already over for the day.

"Remind me why are we researching this man? Whatever is under that trapdoor clearly does not involve us." Ron asked.

I placed down the book I was reading and let out a sigh. "Honestly, I don't really know either."

Harry was about to say something but then Hermione arrived back at the table. She was bringing a gigantic book with her. She placed the book back down and I think the book landed on top of Harry's fingers.

"You good?" I whispered to him.

He simply nodded in reply while massaging his fingers.

"We've been looking in the wrong section this whole entire time. How could I be so stupid. I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading." Hermione opened the book and started.

"This is light?" Ron sneered which earned him a glare from Mione.

"Here it is. Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher's stone. Of course, how could I have forgotten that." Hermione said as she read.

"The what?" Ron and Harry asked in unison.

"The Philosopher's stone...Oh I remember, It's a magical object that turns any metal objects into pure gold or allows the drinker to become immortal." I said.

"That's what Fluffy is guarding on the third floor. That's what's under the trapdoor." Hermione said.

"So Snape was trying to get the Philosopher's stone that night on-" Harry cut himself when the twins and Lee came by our table.

"What are you three doing here?" Ron asked.

"Can't we visit the library when we want to, Ronniekins?" George said as he took a seat across Ron.

"I didn't even know you three knew the library existed." I said which earned a glare from the three and a chuckle from Ron and Harry.

"We were looking for you actually. Professor Carrington is asking you to go to his office." Fred said.

"Why?" I asked.

"We don't really know either. It's not about any pranks since he didn't ask us to be there either." Lee answered.

"Okay then, I'll see lot in the common room then." I got up from the table but before I could leave Fred called my name.

"What is it Fred?" I asked.

"Can I have some cookies, please." He asked while subtly pouting his lips and putting his hands together.

I rolled my eyes and handed him my blue pouch. "Help yourself. If they ask for any cookies, give them some. But there better be some left when I come back." I said as I slowly walked away from the table.

"Thank you Carrington!" Fred yelled which caused Madam Pince to shush him.

I found my way to dad's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in." I heard from the other side of the door.

I entered his office to see my father sitting at his desk, reading a letter.

"Hey dad, you asked for me?" I said as I walked towards him.

"Yes, please take a seat." He said in a serious tone while still reading the letter.

"Did something happen? Is something wrong?" I asked, getting worried since dad isn't usually this serious.

"Nothing is wrong, don't worry. It's just that I received a letter from your Uncle Remus telling me that you're asking for information on the man Nicholas Flamel." He said, placing down the letter.

Wait what, why did uncle moony tell dad about it?

"Yes I did. Is there something wrong about asking about Nicholas Flamel?" I replied.

"Nothing is wrong about asking about Nicholas Flamel. It's just a bit peculiar. I just need to ask, why are you researching him?" He asked.

"Oh I just read about him from somewhere and thought he was an interesting character. I asked uncle Remus about him because I recall him teaching me about him one summer." I answered. I wasn't exactly lying, I wasn't saying the whole truth either but that was fine. He doesn't need to know that I know about the other things.

"Oh alright, I just wanted to know. I think dinner is starting soon so you better head down there." He said. I don't know if it was the light but I could have sworn I saw his face soften a bit and his shoulders relax.

"Okay then, good night dad." I said as I got up from the chair.

"Good night little wolf." He replied.

I walked out of his office, knowing that there must be something or someone else out to get the Philosopher's stone. Even though Harry thinks Snape may be the one out to get it, I have a feeling that something bigger is out to get it. Otherwise why would they place it somewhere the threat can reach it.
