Y/n's POV

We were in Transfiguration and everyone was still talking about the incident last night. I sat next to Makayla with Louis and Draco sitting behind us and Harry and Ron in front of us. She and I have been growing closer as the days passed. Professor McGonagall was teaching us how to transfigure mice into water goblets.

McGonagall pointed her wand at the bird and casted the spell. "Vera verto". Suddenly the bird transfigured into a water goblet.

Now it was our turn to repeat the spell. McGonagall asked Ron to go first. I was worried because even if Ron did know how to cast the spell, his wand would mess it up either way.
And just as I expected, Scabbers did turn into a water goblet but it was clear the spell wasn't successful. It seems the goblet had a tail attached to it.

"You need to replace that wand, Mr.Weasley." McGonagall said.

I looked to my side to notice Hermione was raising her hand.

"Yes, Miss Granger?"

"Professor... I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets." Hermione requested.

McGonagall hesitated on telling us the truth but she eventually gave in. She let out a sigh and began to tell us about the chamber of secrets.

"Now you all know that Hogwarts was founded by the four greates witches and wizards thousands of years ago. One of them was Salazar Slytherin. Now he wished to be more selective of the students who got admitted to Hogwarts. He believed that magical learning should be kept in all-magic families. In other words, Purebloods."

"Since the three founders did not agree with his views, he left the school. According to Legend, Salazar built a hidden chamber within the walls of Hogwarts. But before he left the school, he sealed the chamber until his own true Heir returned to the school. The one true heir is the only one who can open the chamber and unleash the horrors within. If the chamber were to be opened, all those who are in Slytherin's view, not worthy to study magic, will be purged."

"Of course the school has been searched many times, no such chamber has been found." McGonagall assured us. Though something deep down was telling me it wasn't true.

"Professor, what exactly does the legend tell us about what may be inside the chamber?" I asked.

"The chamber is said to be home of a creature...a monster that can only be controlled by the Heir of Slytherin." McGonagall answered.

Transfiguration has ended so it's now my free period. Makayla and Draco had a class after so there were just 4 Gryffindors and a Hufflepuff left. We filled Louis in on what happened last night and he was a bit skeptical about us hearing the voices but he eventually believed us.

"If there is an heir to slytherin who do you think it might be?" Hermione asked.

"Well, let's think, who do we know thinks that they're better than everyone else and that muggle-borns shouldn't be attending Hogwarts?" Ron asked hypothetically.

"If you're talking about Pucey-" Hermione was cut off,

"Of course, You heard him last night. "You'll be next, Mudbloods." practically screams Heir of Slytherin." Ron said.

"Oh don't be daft, Pucey may be a prejudiced arse but he doesn't have the guts to do anything that the Heir of Slytherin would do. He's what many call a coward." I said.
