Third Person's POV

Another start to a glorious summer break. From all the chaos in their second year, Y/n finally decided to reveal her abilities to her family. Granted, they already had a hint on what was going on.

They mentioned uncle Remus's suspicions from that incident during the Holiday break. But they certainly didn't expect that she had gained these powers through having part of her soul stuck in the land of the dead.

Speaking of which, Y/n has been able to communicate with the people on the other side more often now. Her mother nearly sobbed when Y/n mentioned she was talking to Lily and Marlene.

Other than all of "the dead" stuff, it was a pretty normal summer. The Weasley family were spending the Summer break in Egypt so Harry and Y/n barely heard from them throughout the summer. There was an occasional letter and postcard but that was all.

The Carrington siblings spent most of their summer with Lee, Louis and the girls. They visited the Manor quite often. Draco on the other hand, rarely visited due to his father's strong opinions of him fraternizing with "mudbloods and blood traitors"

The only times he got to come over was when his father was having business trips. His mother didn't mind that he was spending time at the manor, in fact she was quite happy. She knew that Draco enjoyed their company quite a lot.

The greatest news of all was that Remus was to join the teacher's staff to fill the role as the DADA teacher. The most excited person to hear the news was definitely Ambrose. He was excited to have a close friend with him at Hogwarts. It also gave the two the opportunity to watch over Y/n and Harry in case anything went wrong.

Through the summer, the two had really changed. Harry managed to grow a foot taller and his voice deepened. He started to grow out his hair, giving him the signature messy Potter hair look that James always had. Y/n started to really grow into her looks, having her waist and hips curved. A very noticeable change was that she had dyed the tips of her hair a dark blue.

Through the summer, the Carrington siblings spent time on themselves. They developed their own sense of style and really started to become their own person. With the help of magic. They pushed through all the awkward things in puberty.

Either way, they had really changed for the better.

It was a few days before the start of school and everyone was already set. Having all the required things from their newly sized robes to their brand new quills.

Y/n and Stark were relaxing in the library. The cat was resting on the fireplace mantle while Y/n was reading the monster book of monsters.

She had been excited for this year's Care of Magical creatures class just by reading what book was issued on the list. It certainly wasn't the usual book to get listed in the requirements.

Harry walked into the library with the latest newspaper in hand. He stopped in his tracks when he noticed Y/n was reading the same book that nearly bit his feet off the day before.

"How the hell did you manage to tame that thing?" He asked, taking a seat farthest away from Y/n, more likely due to the book.

"You stroke the back, of course." Y/n replied without taking her eyes off the page.

"Oh of course, how could I be so stupid?" Harry snarked.

She rolled her eyes at his comment,"What did you want to tell me?" She asked as she flipped a page.
