Y/n's POV

I walked towards the Great hall only to see that it was empty. I guess no dinner for tonight. But that's fine, I can just sneak into the kitchens for some food.

I headed towards the Gryffindor common rooms but I heard someone coming my way.

The night patrols can't possibly be starting so early.

I looked down on my watch to see that it was already 10 pm. I looked for a place to hide but maybe I can just say that I was coming back from my father's office and missed dinner, it's a reasonable explanation. I made up my mind and just started running towards the closest hidden passageway I could find. It's a few corridors down but I can make it.

I could hear the footsteps walk closer towards my location. I ran as fast as I could towards the hidden passageway. I finally reached it and hid inside.

I heard the figure walk past me. I could hear two voices but there was only one pair of footsteps. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused as to whom it may be.

I slowly looked out of the passageway to see Professor Quirrell in the hallway. He was walking towards the moving staircases but suddenly stopped walking. He then turned around but I was able to get out of his sight.

You'd think he was going mental for talking alone in the corridor but there was another voice present. The second voice sounded as if they hadn't had a glass of water in ages.

Once I knew he left the corridor I started making my way towards the common room.

I arrived at the portrait who then asked me for the password. "Fortes Leo", then the portrait swung open. I suspected that the other students were already up in their dorms but I didn't expect him to be there waiting for me.

"Hey Fred, why are you here in the common room? Shouldn't you be in your dorm, sleeping?" I asked, taking a seat next to him on the couch.

"Yes, I should be in my dorm but when have the rules ever stopped me from breaking them?" He said with a grin, handing me a plate of food.

"Aw, Frederick Weasley cared enough to save me some food from dinner. How kind of you." I said as I took the plate from him and began eating.

He rolled eyes, "Don't get used to it, it's a one time thing. Wouldn't want one of my best pranksters to starve to death." he pulled a blanket over himself.

I recognized it as one of the blankets I gave him after one of my pranks.

"Don't let George or Lee hear you say that cause they might have my head." I said as I got comfortable on the couch as I ate.

"What did your father want with you?" He asked, taking a piece of chicken off my plate.

"Nothing to worry about, just some research stuff about some alchemist."

Fred simply nodded and looked into the fire. For the next few minutes, we just sat in silence. Not bothered by the lack of talking, just enjoying the company. Once I finished my plate I set it down on the table.

"Oh I almost forgot," He looked around the couch and pulled out my blue pouch, "here, I promise we did not finish your cookies." he handed to me with a grin.

"That's good, otherwise you and the others would have faced hell." I said while taking it from him.

"You certainly love your cookies."

"Yes I do, but considering the amount of times you asked for them, you love them just as much as me." I said while pulling out a cookie.

"True, true" He repeated but let out a yawn a few seconds later.
