Y/n's POV

The days following New Years felt refreshing. My friends got to connect with my family which made things ten times better. Everything felt like a whiff of fresh air from all the things happening at Hogwarts. It was relaxing.
Of course the day came when we all had to return to Hogwarts. This time no one was left out of the barrier and got through safely.
Something about returning to Hogwarts reminded me of the times when I would come back from a trip abroad. Hogwarts may be a school of chaos but it's become my second home.
When we got back, it was as if everyone had forgotten about all the Chamber of Secrets and the heir of Slytherin, or at least I thought.
A few weeks after we arrived back at Hogwarts, I was on my way to the Black Lake for a bit of fresh air.
I turned a corner when I saw a group of older students in a huddle. They were laughing at something but I couldn't tell why.
I walked closer to the group and realized they were picking on Neville. The boy was trying to gather the shattered pieces of a plant pot that used to hold a plant, which I recognized to be a moonflower sapling.
"Leave him alone." I said as I pushed through them.
I knelt down and proceeded to help Neville. He sent me a subtle thankful smile.
"What're you gonna do about it? Gonna send daddy to put me in detention? Or you're going to summon whatever monster you got in the chamber of secrets after me?" A Slytherin taunted from behind me.
I rolled my eyes and slightly twitched my head with the thought of the student falling back on their arse. A thud came from behind me. A smirk surfaced on my face as I turned my head to see the student on the ground, confused as to what just happened.
The other students laughed at the sight rather than trying to help them up.
"Don't just laugh, help me up!" They yelled.
A Ravenclaw student helped them up but they were still snickering.
I scooped the rest of the dirt with the sapling at the top. I stood up and signalled to Neville that we should get going. He nodded quickly and picked up the rest of the pot pieces.
Just as we were about to leave, the other students blocked my way.
"And where do you think you're going?" A Gryffindor asked as they crossed their arms.
"Listen, I really don't have the capability to stand near a bunch of narcissists and bullies, because I will physically combust. Your kind gives off a certain smell I really hate. So do me a favor and step out of the way or else those mops on your heads you call hair, will fall out. And I mean that as a promise." I threatened without missing a beat.
The few sent scared looks from my statement but they stood their ground.
"Why should we listen to a pathetic second year like you?" A Slytherin asked with an unamused tone.
"Because we'll kick your arse." A voice spoke from the other side of the corridor.
I looked over the Slytherin's shoulder and saw the boys walk towards my direction with angered looks on their faces.
"Seriously? You two Weasels, Jordan and Partridge?" The Ravenclaw chuckled.
"Merlin, you lot must think you're really all that if you decide terrorizing a bunch of second years is a good use of your time." George said with a dry chuckle.
