Y/n's POV

I had no idea where I was. The concept of time didn't exist and every time I thought it was over, I would wake up somewhere else. It felt like my dreams but more jumbled. I wasn't in a person's body. I was like a ghost witnessing the deaths of others.
But this time it was even more different. Everything felt peaceful and it was like my lungs cleared up. I looked around and I realized I was in the gardens at the Manor. I took a turn and spotted the Gazebo but someone stood there, looking at me.
I walked up to the figure, she looked so familiar but I couldn't place my finger on it.
"Um excuse me, who are you?" I asked hesitantly, hoping she could see me.
Surprisingly, she smiled with a slight glint of sun in her eye. "My dear, I have been waiting to meet you for quite some time. Though, I know you'll be leaving soon so we must make this quick. I am your great grandmother."
"What- how is that possible...Am I dead?" My mind was a storm of thoughts and questions as to what was going on. I'm seeing my dead great grandmother. I'm probably dead.
"Oh no little one, you're very much alive. But you can say that some part of your soul is here on the other side." She explained.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, "My what-"
"Your soul," She chuckled. "That night when Voldemort went to kill you, he was successful, but we, your ancestors, knew you were destined for something greater. So you were resurrected. But being resurrected comes with a price."
"So part if my soul is here...where is my body right now?" I asked.
She motioned me to come closer. She led me towards the lake. She waved her hand over the water and it soon revealed me in a bed in the hospital wing.
"Your friends and family have been visiting you everyday. Especially that redheaded boy, you must be very special to him." She teased.
"Fred's a good friend." I retorted.
She chuckled and shook her head.
I looked towards the corner to spot Hermione and Makayla. My eyes widened and a worried look appeared on my face. My great grandma must have noticed because she spoke up.
"Your friends...they unfortunately had an encounter with the Basilisk. But not to worry, they are just petrified. There is a cure and I am certain your herbology professor and nurse is concocting the cure at this very moment." She reassured me with a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded at her words. Now I was worried about the others, there's still a possibility that they'll get hurt or worse, killed.
"I have to go back. I know where the chamber is, what they're against, everything. I just have to wake up." I said as I paced around back and forth.
"You will wake up, little one, you just have to focus." She stated.
"How will that work?" I asked.
"The piece of your soul that's here is still connected to your body in the living plain. Have you ever wondered how you managed to master magic so quickly at such a young age?" She asked.
"You mean my abilities are connected to this somehow?" I questioned.
She nodded, "Your soul is connected to the land of the dead, so you're able to channel the magic of your ancestors and the world itself. Because this world is filled with an endless amount of power, the magic is powerful."
The pieces were coming together like a puzzle. It must explain the dreams, the whispers, the small sightings of dead people, all of it. It's all because some part of my soul is here, in the land of the dead.
"Wait, if I'm connected to this world, can I see the dead?" I asked.
"Yes, when you were younger you were considered as a child with a very vivid imagination. But in truth, what you saw was real. Over time your mind began to close off your abilities. Which was why it was rare for us to communicate with you." She explained.
"Us?" I asked.
She smiled lightly at the question and led me back to the gazebo where I recognized five figures that stood by the structure.
Aunt Lily, Aunt Marlene, Aunt Dorcas, Uncle James and Uncle Regulus were smiling brightly at my presence. I've never met any of them but from the stories and adventures my mum and dad told me, I saw them as family.
"You look just like your mother." Lily claimed as she embraced me in a hug.
"But you have your father's hair." James commented as he joined the hug.
I let out a chuckle. "I remember you two were with me and Harry last Halloween in the Common room."
"We never left." Lily said.
"We're always with you." James stated.
I turned my gaze towards Regulus who kept his distance. At that moment I recognized the energy coming off him. It reminded me of the dream in that dark cave surrounded by water.
"I'm sorry that happened to you, uncle Reg." I said.
"It's alright mini-Rose, it's in the past and it's a story for another day." He said with a light grin.
I nodded slightly. I returned my gaze to the other four standing by my side.
"As much as we'd want you to spend time with you here, you have to go back." Dorcas reminded.
"But we'll be with you the whole time, all you have to do is open your mind." Regulus assured.
"Sounds easier said than done, but I'll try." In all honesty, this all sounded crazy to me. How any of this is even possible makes it nearly impossible for me to grasp.
"Tell Harry we love him and that we'll always be with him, no matter what." Lily instructed me.
"I will, I promise." I nodded at them with a sad grin, I could tell from look on their faces, they wanted to tell harry so much more.
Lily and James smiled, happy that they'd get a message out to their son.
"It's time," My great Grandma announced.
The others nodded in understanding and hugged me a goodbye, even Regulus.
My great grandma led me back to the Lake. She instructed that I stand by the water and focus my energy into the living plain. Use the connection with my soul in the living realm as a sort of string back to my body. Did it sound easy? Yes. Was it easy? No. Not when it's your first time doing the spell.
Doing magic in the land of the dead felt different. It somehow felt like fireworks were going off inside my body. Everything sound and vibration felt muted the second I started doing the spell. And before I knew it, I woke up in the hospital wing with the sight of red hair by my bed.
