The manor was sparking with so much life. It was as if the lights had become brighter and the Manor became warmer as the outside became colder.
As per usual, the snow had blanketed the lands with its mystical white powder, making it look like a winter wonderland outside. It was mesmerizing to see it all.
The lake by the garden had frozen over but we haven't gone ice skating yet. We spent most of our days inside.
We'd bake sweets, watch muggle films, play board games and charades. It was the most fun I've had in a while.
Whenever we were outside, we would have snow-ball fights and make snowmen and dress them up with old scarves and hats. One in particular was wearing a business tie and a hat and we all decided to name him Bob the snowman.
This cold morning, dad decided it was time to decorate the manor. Now you see, when it comes to decorating our lovely home, dad likes to go all out. Every year, he gets up at the crack of dawn and summons the multitude of boxes filled with Christmas decorations.
One of the great things of being gifted with magical abilities is that he is able to decorate the house all by himself in a flash. We would continuously offer to help him every year but he would always insist on doing it himself.
So on a random day during the Holiday season, you may wake up one morning to the Manor looking like it was decorated by Santa's elves themselves.
Thing is that Harry and I have grown up with this happening every year and we've gotten so used to it that we would bet what night dad would do it, the closest bet to the date gets ten galleons. But the others still haven't fully grasped how much our father loves Christmas.
This morning, we woke up to just that.
The second I opened my door and spotted the tinsel and ribbons on the lights, I knew that dad had decorated the manor. And that I was going to be ten galleons richer.
I entered the hallway in my coat with Stark following me from behind. I went towards Harry's bedroom and knocked on his door cheerfully.
Seconds later, he opened his door with his hair pointing in every direction with a trail of drool on his chin.
"Why on earth have you decided to wake me up so bloody early in the morning." Harry yawned as he rubbed his eyes before placing on his glasses.
"Good morning to you too, Harold. You owe me ten galleons." I claimed with my hand stretched out.
Harry grimaced at the statement once he noticed the decorations hung on the lights. "No fair, Why couldn't he have waited for 1 more night." He retreated inside his room and came back outside with a handful of galleons.
"Thank you." I replied in a sing-song voice.
Harry rolled his eyes before he shut his door with a slight thud coming from the other side. He never really was a morning person, even during the holidays.
I sent the handful of coins to my room before I retreated down to the living room. I've been practicing sending and summoning things, thinking it would be a useful skill without my wand.
I went down another flight of stairs as I hummed a soft tune. I soon ended up in the kitchens. I grabbed an apple and headed towards the back door.
I usually spend most of my rare early mornings, tending to the animals in the reserve, when I'm here at the Manor. I usually roam around the castle or head to the black lake if I was at Hogwarts.
