Embarrassment

The Amarillo team could barely get near the ball at the start of the game because of the strong defenders of Fort Street, but there was one on the team who effortlessly snatched the ball, none other than the prince. His aura has changed; unlike their fight in Windsor, the prince now appears more serious, as if he is in a blaze as I stare at him. But when the man with whom the prince tossed a coin arrived, Fort Street snatched it back, and the ball was returned to them.

Our team did not lose. The game has become more intense as the first half ends. Not a single one of them scored. After forty-fifth minutes, I can see how tired the prince is; he spent too much energy; his body might give out if he kept going.

Tal stopped me just as I was about to go down the bleacher. "Can you tell me where you're going?"

"I have to stop him. If he keeps doing this, his body will eventually give up," I said.

"He knows what he's doing, Gemma," Raeanna added before grabbing my arm and pulling me back into my seat. "Don't fret."

The second half of the game began. The change in the prince's body is obvious; it no longer conforms to him; he spent too much of his strength in the first half and became exhausted once the second quarter arrived. A 15-minute break is not enough for him to regain the strength he has lost.

He clearly can't concentrate. It worries me seeing him exhausted. I stood up, not to stop him, but to encourage him. I waved my hand while holding the bobble. I would have screamed if Raeanna had screamed before me. "Look at me the way you used to. Like what I always say, you can stop if you're tired." Raeanna yelled, her voice shaking. "I'm staying, and I'm not going anywhere else."

I immediately shifted my gaze to the prince. I thought cheering him would make him focus on the game, but he appeared even more distracted, as if I had made a mistake. He didn't notice the oncoming Fort Street team because he turned to look at us more; the enemy grabbed the ball, which surprised him.

"No!" Raeanna and I screamed at the same time.

He tried to snatch it. However, it's too late. The striker of Fort Street already kicked the ball into Amarillo's net. As points were awarded to Fort Street, the students on Fort Street became even louder, whereas the Amarillo team fell silent.

It's okay, prince. They only scored one; we still have time to get the ball back to our team. But as the second half continued, the Amarillo team's movement slowed; they were all tired, particularly the prince, who was doing everything. As the end of the second half approached, Fort Street got the ball, and Amarillo could do nothing but hold them back. Many players have been injured because they are too desperate to keep the ball from entering the net. It was as if everyone in the field had stopped breathing for a split second. We are all aware it's just a practice game, but they act as if it's real. When the crowd stopped abruptly, the speaker yelled the word "GOAL" loudly.

The game ended 2-0, with Fort Street scoring two points and Amarillo scoring none. The Fort Street Academy team was elated, while the Amarillo team was downcast. Others chose simply to leave the field and return to their classes. Although it was only a practice game, I could see the disappointment on the students' faces on Amarillo's team.

I jumped off the bleachers and ran over to the team bench. Trying to lighten the prince's mood by giving him a thumbs up. "I honestly thought your game would never end. It was so intense. You should have seen the look on their faces; everyone was watching as if they had stopped breathing for a moment, though we lost. It's okay; you gave your all. This is not the actual game yet." I said, trying to encourage him.

He turned his head and glared at me. "SHUT THE F*** UP!" I took another step back in response to his yell. He had a firm grip on the collar of my uniform, and everyone could see what he was doing, which made me feel embarrassed.

"Please, prince, not here..." I pleaded.

"WHO THE HELL BROUGHT RAEANNA HERE?!"

"I-I did," I replied shakily.

"I TELL YOU TO STAY OUT OF MY BUSINESS, YOU NOSY FREAK!"

"Raeanna wants to see you. I know you do as well."

"Want? YOU WRENCH. YOU'RE JUST MY MAID. WHY ARE YOU THE ONE DECIDING WHO I WANT TO SEE?"

"No, it's your heart that decides, not me. I only listen to your heart, not the words that come out of your mouth." I looked at him through his eyes. "Your eyes alone tell me what you want. If I don't do it, you'll probably regret it for the rest of your life. Why don't you just admit that you need her more than anything else? Why pushed Raeanna away even though you already knew the truth?"

"QUIT THE DRAMA!" all of a sudden, Prince Augustus threw me towards the bench, which surprised everyone.

"CYNFAEL!" Raeanna hurriedly walks over to Prince Augustus. She runs her hands through the prince's cheeks.

"Raeanna?" I didn't see that coming. I didn't expect Raeanna to slap the prince. In shock, I covered my mouth with both my hands.

"Why her? Why should Gemma suffer while I remain unharmed? Putting all the blame on Gemma isn't right. I was the one who put us into this situation."

"Keep your trap shut! Don't get involved in this!"

"Quit telling me not to get involved in this Cynfael because I'm a part of it. I feel bad for causing your life to be miserable and making a fool of you," she paused. "You know what? Just forget about what I said earlier, that I would stay; I have decided to leave you again; I'm not staying, and I won't return if that makes you happy."

"I told you to SHUT UP!" He began yelling again, picked up the ball on the field, and tossed it in my direction.

I tried to avoid the ball that was coming, but it happened so fast that it hit me in the face. The force of his throw caused me to fall onto the field. My mind is completely blank, nor can't feel my face for a moment. Raeanna had the prince in her grip. However, the prince threw Raeanna away.

"That ball isn't enough for the likes of you; you'll pay for your lives by interfering in my life."

The Prince attempted to throw another ball; this time, I didn't try to dodge; instead, I shut my eyes so that I couldn't see the ball slowly approaching me.
