Arthur and I hugged for a long time, while he patted the back of my hair tenderly, I still get the same warm comforting feeling from him that I remember feeling when I was a baby. Is this what it feels like to have a father? It makes me so happy and feels kind of familiar, but where have I felt this before? Ow right, I sort of felt this way with Tomas, I mean it's not exactly the same, but it's similar... Wait, Tomas! I was supposed to have lunch with him, he's probably freaking out.
"By any chance, did anyone talk to Tomas about why I missed lunch?" I asked taking a step back, looking between Lucas and Arthur, they shared a nervous look before turning back to me. Lucas looked away with a guilty expression on his face, but Arthur stepped up, facing me, though he still looked uneasy.
"To be perfectly honest, Alex... There was an incident while you were unconscious."
"An incident... Is he ok? He didn't hurt anybody did he?" I asked frantically and Lucas noticably rolled his eyes.
"No he didn't seriously hurt anyone, but..." Arthur scratched the back of his head.
"But what?" I asked and Arthur sighed.
"He tried to leave the cottage and got into a fight with the warriors posted around the house. We had to detain him."
"What!?! Is he ok? Did they hurt him?" I asked already headed for the door, but Lucas grabbed my arm.
"Wait, Alexandra, he's dangerous."
"Tomas would never hurt me."
"You don't know that. It took six warriors just to restrain him." Lucas said with a worried look and my heart softened.
"Lucas, I know your over protective, but calling him dangerous is like calling you dangerous. You both are, but not to me." I explained softly.
"I'm your mate, Alexandra, he's not." Lucas said in a slightly offended tone.
"No he's not." I agreed. "He's my bodyguard." I smiled up at his disgruntled expression. "Tell me Lucas, what would you do if I wasn't where I said I was going to be? Would you blow up my phone with a million calls and text messages or follow me to the mall? Would you fight six warriors to try and get to me?" I asked and Lucas groaned.
"I would fight through an entire pack to get to you." He growled lowly as his hand wrapped around my waist pulling me to him and leaned down pressing his forehead to mine, before sighing again. "But I still don't trust him."
"Then trust me Lucas." I implored, rubbing my hands over his broad shoulders. "I might not know much about your world yet, but I'm a fast study. I'll be careful and you'll be with me, so I don't know what your so worried about... Unless you don't think your strong enough to protect me." I finished with a challenging smirk and Lucas growled in response as his eyes flashed darkly.
"Don't provoke him, Alex. I don't want to see where this is going." Arthur interjected, pulling us both back from our heated stare. "You can go see him, but I warn you, the doctor said he didn't appear to be severally injured, but he wouldn't let anyone get close and he's been in his wolf form since we put him in the d...cells." Arthur corrected with a cough.
"Dungeon! You put him in a dungeon?" I asked/yelled with my mouth gaping open in shock.
"I'm sorry, there was nowhere else to put him that he couldn't break out of and I couldn't have him tearing through the campus looking for you." Arthur explained.
"Please take me to him." I asked turning to Lucas with pleading eyes.
"Fine." He agreed with another sigh before hooking his arm around me and turning us to the door, I looked back at Arthur and he flashed me a small regretful smile.
