This castle... School is amazing, in some places it's 6 stories tall Vicky showed me a lot and explained the rest on our way down to the cafeteria. Which is fancy and overly extravagant like everything else here, there's a huge line of buffet tables set up with every kind of food you could imagine in all the best food groups; protein, fruit, vegetable, pasta and dessert. We loaded our plates and Vicky pulled me over to one of the long rectangular tables that was already crowded over with a group of colorful looking people.
"Everyone this is my roommate, Alex. She just arrived here today and doesn't know anyone yet." Vicky announced and I smiled and gave a little wave feeling kind of nervous, as I'm not used to socializing much, especially in big groups. But I was pleasantly surprised as everyone greeted me and made way for us to sit with them.
"Hi Alex, I'm Gill. So, what brings you to Crescent Academy?" A cute guy with green hair and an athletically thin build asked.
"They gave me a scholarship." I said honestly but they all looked at me with confused expressions.
"I didn't know this school has a scholarship program?" One of the girls commented and there was a round of agreeing echoes.
"Well I've already met with the Dean, so there's no mistake." I informed them.
"So whatcha in for beautiful?" Gill asked as he folded his arms on the table, leaning forward with an interested glint in his sea green eyes.
"Finishing my major's in animal-biology and zoology."
"Finishing?" Vicky interjected.
"Ya, there was a slight hiccup with the scholarship at my last school. I already have my associate degree in biochemistry and biology and I have two years left to finish my double major."
"Wow I didn't realize my new roomie would be so smart, score!" Vicky exclaimed while everyone laughed as we all sat around enjoying our meals and talking, they are all so friendly and welcomed me into their group with open arms.
After lunch Vicky and Gill decided to continue my tour, extending it to the whole campus, this place is absolutely huge. There's an Olympic size swimming pool, a massive garden with a beautiful marble fountain, a huge field with a building for locker rooms and storage for all kinds of sports equipment and so much more. I also saw a few walking trail leading into the forest and I couldn't wait to explore, luckily by about four Vicky said she had to go prepare for a hot date and I was able to excuse myself from Gill, after promising to see him in the dining hall for dinner.
I couldn't really say why I felt so restless, but ever since I saw those trails all I've wanted to do is walk through the woods. Somehow it's always felt so calming and freeing for me, the clean earthy smell of the forest, the sounds of nature and I also like looking for animal trails, which could technically be counted as research, because it helps me understand animals behavior... At least that's what I tell myself as I purposefully wonder off the walking trail in search of wolf tracks and it really didn't take long before I found some.
I was completely surprised though, because the paw prints are absolutely huge! Easily twice the size of a timber wolf print! How is that even possible? They're probably a day or two old, but I couldn't help the desire for a chance to see this giant magnificent animal, so I followed them despite the possibility of danger.
The path the wolf took wasn't exactly well worn but it wasn't really overgrown either, and he appeared like he was moving at a leisurely pace, in no rush at all. The wolf's trail led me deeper into the forest until it came to a stop at the bottom of a huge rock formation, in a way it kind of reminded me of pride rock from the lion king, only it's steeper and has a big flat bolder at the top.
