Chapter 31

"Dad, what are you doing here?"

Gulat kong tanong at kakagising ko palang nang makita ko siya dito sala kasi pinatawag ako ni Manang sabi may naghahanap daw sa'kin, si Daddy lang pala. Kailan pa siya umuwi?

Gabi na at ngayon lang ako nagising. Nagsimula na rin kasi akong mag review para licensure exam ko kaya lagi akong ganito ang gising.

"I'm here to have a break from work!" he then hugged me habang kinukusot ko pa 'yong mga mata ko.

"Really? you'll be here until my board exam? until Christmas and new year?" I excitedly asked him and he nodded while his arms were still around my shoulders.

"Of course! how's your review?" he asked before we sat down on the sofa of the living room.

Oh, so, he's staying until Christmas, huh! I'm more than excited because he will be here!

"I'm fine, dad," I said casually but I think he has to ask some more questions based on the way he looks at me.

Ano na naman kayang iniisip niya ngayon?

"What about you and CJ?" oh come on! he's teasing me.

Hindi niya pa kasi alam na kami. He still have no idea what's going on with me and CJ.

Until now, I still can't believe it. I can't believe that I'm already in a relationship. I also can't believe everything that happened. I didn't know that I'm still capable of loving someone and entering a relationship.

Look how fast those nights change.

I asked him to come closer to whisper to him about the details kasi gusto ko siya lang 'yong makaalam pero mukhang ang OA niyang mag react.Para siyang fanboy kung maka react.

"Talaga, anak? kayo na?" masayang tanong niya at sinenyasan ko siya na hinaan boses niya.

"Yes," I said.

Of course, I will not say anything more than that. I will not say that something already happened between CJ and me specifically in the car. I can't get enough of that moment. That was amazing though.

My dad looks happier than I am after I told him that CJ and I are already together. Parang mas masaya pa siya kesa sa akin kasi anlakas parin talaga ng halakhak niya. He's that happy because his ship is finally sailing.

"Pakasal na kayo," he said and I just rolled my eyes.

Wow, I didn't see that coming. Two weeks pa nga lang kami ni CJ kasal na kaagad 'tong si Daddy. Iba rin trip niya. Wedding? I never imagine myself in that situation in my life na ikakasal ako. Yes, I love CJ but it doesn't change my mind na ayaw ko ng kasal.

Besides, we're too young for that. He has a career to reach the same as me.

"Dad, you know that I don't do marriage. We can just slow down, we can be happy without papers," I said and nodded ended up agreeing with what I said.

Siya lang talaga 'yong kakwentuhan ko dito sa bahay 'to kaya nga umiiyak talaga ako dati sa tuwing aalis siya kasi ibig sabihin ay mag isa na naman ako ulit. Ayokong kakwentuhan si Mommy. Si Gideon naman, hindi kami masyadong close. Hindi ako komportable lalo na si Kuya.

"Sige, enjoy niyo muna. Wag munang magmadali. Bata pa kayo, pero kung magbago pa isip mo..."

"Dad!" I shrieked and he laughed at nag e-echo 'yong tawa niya buong sala.

"Okay, hindi na ako magsasalita tungkol dun. Kamusta nga pala review mo?" he asked shifting the topic talking about my review.

So, for the past few hours. Dad and I were just having a conversation about my review and he's giving me some tips for me to have an easier and smarter way of studying. Matalino kasi si Daddy, sa kanya nga ako nagmana.
