Chapter 29

We're finally back in the Philippines and now, I will be starting with my review for my licensure exam since 6 months nalang, licensure exam na and unfortunately, Lauren will not be able to take the Engineering exam kasi pumunta na siya ng US for her Master's degree.

We sometimes do facetime but she's that busy that's why minsan lang. The pressure is on because I need to be one of the Top Notchers because I cannot bring down the name of my school that I even graduated as Magna Cum Laude.

I know I can do it and handle the pressure but it's just tiring to review. I'm here at the house in my room currently scanning the pages of my reviewer and answering the questions.

"Anak, meryenda ka muna," mom just came into my room carrying a tray with her.

"No, I'm good," I went back to my reviewer questions.

"Hindi ka pa kumakain ng agahan," she's disturbing me.

"I already said I'm good, hindi niyo ba 'yon naintindihan?" inis kong tanong at bumuntong hininga lang siya.

"Sige iiwan ko nalang 'to dito. Baka gutumin ka, pwede mong kainin dito," she said before putting the tray on the side of my table.

I never wanted to eat her food. Ever.

I just continue with my review even until lunchtime came. I looked at the food on the table and I suddenly became hungry.

I sighed and shook my head before I went back to my workplace. My table was already a lot of crumpled papers for solving some calculus stuff which is pretty easy because I love calculus, you know.

Just exactly 12 o clock, I'm now hungry and I decided to order food from a restaurant. I'd rather eat that food rather than mom's cooking.

"Nag order ka?" she asked me when I just got the order from the rider outside.

"Yes," tipid kong sagot at agad na akong umakyat sa taas.

I just ate my brunch at my room. I don't usually eat in the dining area of the house. Most the time, I eat my room kasi lumaki akong ganun. Sa kwarto ako kumakain pala kasi nagnanakaw lang ako ng mga luto ni Mommy dati kina kuya kasi hindi niya ako tinitirhan tapos ngayon na ayoko na saka pa siya magbibigay?

No way.

I already had enough kaya hindi ko na kailangan ng pagkain niya. I'll just put those things she cooked for me in the trash because I don't wanna see it. I don't wanna let myself feel pity for her effort.

After my lunch, I just lay in my bed and set my phone back again in normal mode. Naka airplane mode kasi 'yon kasi ayokong maisturbo kapag nag aaral.

There, I saw a lot of messages from our GC with my best friends and they're into the party again. Okay, I think I need a break because it's been a week since I've been reading all those stuff. I think I need a break so I messaged them that I will go.

The next message that I received is from CJ.

From: CJ

Have you eaten your lunch? how's your review?

He's like a doctor to me. I mean he's really a doctor to be but he's treating me like a patient. Not in a bad way, okay? he keeps on asking about my day, anything like that.

Actually, I haven't seen him after that Tabanata Festival in Japan because he said he will another seminar in Tagaytay which is kinda bit far from here.

I miss him though.

To: CJ

It's all fine, it's a tiring day.
