Chapter 46

"I like the presentation, I like all the details but I have one problem. I am concerned about the timely completion of the project. Instead of 3 years, I wanted to make it two years and a half," the client said and it's my turn to speak this one.

We're currently in a meeting with the client.

"That is possible if the budget is consistent enough to support the needs of the projects," I said.

"Well, I have a consistent budget. So, are you saying that you can two years and a half?" he asked.

"Yes, sir. We can do it. We will hire more workers and double the materials that should be bought even before the construction starts. Engineers and contractors should be the ones to handle that matter and I know they can do it," I was being confident because I know that my team has the skill to do it.

"Wonderful! then I cannot wait for the project to get finished," he's very excited though.

"That ends the meeting, thank you for your wonderful presentation. I'll see you at the construction site," he said before he finally arranged his things with his secretary then left the meeting room kaya nakahinga ako ng maluwag.

The meeting with the client was smooth in presenting the ideas of my team regarding this upcoming project.

The client was an Australian citizen and this building will soon be a hotel and he's planning to add a bar at the top of the building for attraction which just gave us more specification of what materials we should use. Of course, we still need to fix some of the details of the plan.

"Okay, Good job, everyone. Everything is settled, we will have meetings with the Engineers later regarding the changes, I think we can start the construction effectively next two weeks after the discussion of the changes and obtain the building permit from the Municipality," I said to my team and they also felt relief hearing the good feedbacks from the Bosses and the client.

"I'm nervous, Architect. He's so intimidating," Architect Lopez said.

"Well, he is but he's a client. We can do this one, don't worry. Just focus," I am just motivating them and I don't do that thing before but now since I am their superior then I should do that.

"But can we do it for 2 years and a half Architect? I'm afraid that the building will be that well-founded," Architect Jameson has a point.

"You're right but we need to find a way to make the project to be completed within 2 years and a half. We'll discuss that later,"

We had a meeting with the Engineers of my team after that to discuss on how we are going to adapt the changes. Maraming nagbago kasi mas malaki 'yong expenses kasi mas maraming workers, maraming mga tao at mga materyales parang naging doble pero kung gagawin ring 3 years 'yong project then the proposed budget will just be equal.

"We can use the Quikrete, it is the most trusting brand for types of cement that not just fast to dry but also durable and strong that it would take 4000 PSI after a month. It's faster and stronger than the other brand that other construction companies used," the Engineer said and of course, we needed their opinion, that's their job.

"But it's expensive, shall that be okay?"

"Yes, it will always be and given the fact that they requested this project in cutting the time completion short then they do have that large budget," I said and they agreed.

"I agree with Architect. So, we need first to process the building permit so that we can now start the construction because we don't have so much time to delay. Regarding the materials, we will meet the contractor tomorrow and get all the things needed for us to start immediately when the building permit will be approved. We will hire additional workers to fill the changes gaps from between the original plan," the engineer got those words I want to hear.
