Chapter 53

I can't believe that I'm already engaged. Everything just happened so fast that I still couldn't believe that this is even happening right now.

I will soon get married to the man that I love the most and I have no regrets at all. When he proposed to me, I just couldn't think of any reason for me to say no.

We're already planning the details but we haven't talked about the venue of the wedding. It's been weeks already and I'm also busy with my work that's why I cannot have the focus on that but I always do my best to have time in preparing it.

Kaya niya pala kinausap 'yong mga kaibigan at pamilya ko kasi nagpaalam pala siya. Dad knows about it and only me who has no idea at all. My friends were teasing me about it even if we already went back to Manila na parang mas kinikilig pa sila kesa sa'kin.

But there's still something missing.

I don't know what is that but it's just that something is missing. As I look at CJ while he's playing football with the kids in the poolside, I know that there's still something missing with him and I think I know that now.

Hinintay ko silang matapos maglaro at ngayon pinapaliguan na silang dalawa ng Yaya nila at andito kaming dalawa ni CJ sa may kusina.

"Babe, can I ask you something?" I asked him while he was sitting on the countertop.

"What is it, my love?" he asked and I hold his arm while facing him.

"About your mom, are you still mad at her?" I asked him and he sighed.

"It's weird that I didn't feel anything when I saw her that morning. Though she cut me off years ago then when I saw her earlier, I didn't feel that I'm still mad at her," I wonder if I would feel the same when I saw my mom.

I haven't seen her for so long and I have no idea where she is. I also didn't bother to know where she is now.

"Why did you not agree to have a meal with her?" I asked him again.

"Because she only referring to me. Hindi naman pwedeng basta-basta lang ako aalis at iiwan kayo ng mga bata. I'm a father now, babe" kaya pala kasi ayaw niya kaming iwan ng araw na 'yon.

"I know but if she will ask to have a meal with you next, it's fine. I don't mind at all. She's still your mom, after all," I know that he has a genuine relationship with his mom and I want him to restore that relationship with her so that we can have peace of mind.

"Yes, I will do that but only if you're with me," he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer to her while I'm standing between his thighs.

"But---

"No buts, Architect Enriquez. I will not be alone in this journey of life that I have because you're not just the mother of my children but the woman that I love the most" he gave me a soft kiss on my lips and I just didn't want to end this.

"What about the wedding? Are you not going to invite her?" I have a lot of questions for him para maliwagan ako at napaisip siya.

"Do you want to invite her?" he asked me back instead.

"Well, she's still your mom after all," that was not a specific answer but I hope he will get it and I think he did.

"If that's what you want, then we will go to the house and invite her," that was fast, I mean I wasn't expecting that he will decide things that fast but it was indeed good for the both of us.

We will ask for his mom's blessing for our wedding and also for the kids to know more about their dad's side.
