Chapter 41
"Congratulations! you passed the licensure exam, hija! Arkitekto kana!"
My grandparents made me wake up that good news. It's been a month since I am staying here in Australia and I didn't know the result would be posted this fast.
"Tingnan mo 'to, Veronica! nag post ang PRC kaya agad kong nakita pangalan mo! ayan!" Bianca showed me her phone while I'm rubbing my eyes kasi kakagising ko lang rin.
When I look at the phone and I gulped seeing my name on the top of the list!
I'm the top one! for real?!
I tried refreshing it and it's not a mistake at all! I'm the top one! my reaction was too late theirs. This is so overwhelming! My hard work paid off!
"Congrats! top one!" ugh! party poppers again! It's all over in my bed now.
"Congrats, top one!" Justin came into the room and he's holding that cake wearing that smile while walking.
Bianca was other her other phone doing face time with Lauren who's in the US at the moment and congratulating me. I am so happy that my hard work paid off! those sleepless nights and tiring exams! all of those have paid off!
I'm so proud of myself either.
I just wish to pass the exam but this is much more than I expected.
Bianca was with me because I also need her right now. Lauren knows about about this as well as Justin kaya siya andito rin. My dad decided to stay in the Philippines to continue expanding while mom, I don't know where she is and I don't care either.
Mga kaibigan at Lolo at Lola ko lang ang kasama ko dito sa Australia. We celebrated my success, they're proud of me too. We're just here in the poolside of the house celebrating.
They like celebrations, even just small things. Ever since I came here to Australia, all I did was stay in the house. I don't wanna go out because it's hot here since already February and it's summer here.
Justin was doing the barbeque which is his special tea while Bianca was helping him and my grandparents were preparing the food they cooked on the table here outside. It's kinda bit cold here but it's fine to stay here for now.
"Your dad must be so proud of you if he's here and he will know this good news," Lola said and I know that he's always proud of me.
"I know, La. But thank you for this celebration," I sincerely said and she tapped my shoulders.
"Walang anuman, apo. Pinaalam ko na sa kanya at malungkot nga lang hindi siya makakapunta dahil busy ang daddy mo ngayon sa pagpapalaki ng negosyo niya. Tumawag ba sa'yo?"
"Hindi po, I don't have my phone. I left my phone in the Philippines," I said and she nodded.
"Oo nga pala, sige, ako na tatawag sa kanya mamaya kapag kakain na tayo," she went back to the kitchen and continue helping with my Lolo.
Dad was so busy. I mean, really busy. I wanted to stay with him but he said that I should stay here instead for me from seeing my mom. He wasn't saying anything when I told him that I broke up with CJ.
I didn't keep in touch with him because I don't have a phone or a laptop, lahat ng mga gadgets ko, iniwan ko sa Pilipinas at okay naman 'yong buhay ko na walang ganun. All I did here in Australia for one month is to read books every single day.
I don't want to have one also, I don't use an iPhone because all the photos and memories of my old phone will just sync in my new phone if I will buy another one.
