Chapter 28

I woke up alone in the room. Wala na si CJ sa tabi ko. I get up from bed and try to find him anywhere in the room but he's not there. He's nowhere to be found. But then I just noticed that there's something in my cheeks when I look at myself in the mirror.

It's a sticky note.

What the hell is this?

I take it off from my cheek to see what's written there.

I will go first because my mom called me to be in Tokyo before 3 PM. I will call you later,

Umalis na talaga siya. Bakit hindi man lang niya ako ginising? At least I can just say goodbye to him before he leave.

Since he's not here so now I need to go out of the room and Julia's parents were already here.

"Good Morning, Tita," I greeted and she smiled at me.

"Good Morning, hija. Halikana, handa 'yong agahan. Kayo pa lang ni Julia 'yong gising,"

Mantika talaga matulog 'yong tatlo kaya minsan talaga pinapalo ko ng unan para magising sila.

Julia was preparing the dishes and I saw Tito Akio at the table and I did a mano to him. He has Japanese blood that's why Julia was a bit chinita. Chinito kasi si Tito.

"Upo ka, hija." He said pointing at where I always seat even at their house in Manila.

Julia went to where Bianca, Lauren, and Justin were staying and after 3 minutes, lumabas na 'yong tatlong mantikain. Kinukusot pa nila 'yong mga mata nila habang naglalakad papunta dito sa kusina.

Hindi kasi pwede dito na hindi pwedeng sabay sabay na kumain kailan sabay talaga kaya kailangan talaga silang gisingin. This is also one of the reason why I love to visit here every year.

Of course, they greeted Julia's parents. Hindi pwedeng hindi.

"Ang sarap ng tulog ko, lambot kasi ng kama," Bianca said while yawning.

"Also because the place is cold, we're being surrounded with trees," Lauren got it right.

"That's also the reason why we always travel here every year to take a break from the city. Ang usok kaya sa Manila at ang ingay," Julia said which also my opinion.

"Nagpaalam nga pala sa'kin 'yong boyfriend mo, Veronica," I almost choke my food because Tita said.

Is she talking about CJ? But he is not my boyfriend.

He's not my friend either.

"B-boyfriend?" nauutal pa akong nagtanong at rinig ko 'yong mahinang tawa ng mga kaibigan ko.

"Oo 'yong lalaking umalis kaninang madaling araw. Galing siya sa kwarto mo, e. Sino nga ba 'yon? Cedric? Oo tama, Cedric. Alam ba ng parents mo na may boyfriend kana?" she asked and I need to clear things now.

"Uh...he's not my boyfriend, tita" I said gradually at hindi siya naniniwala sa sagot ko.

"Bakit kayo natulog sa iisang kwarto? Naku kayo talagang mga kabataan ngayon, huli na nga, tinatanggi pa. Pero mukhang mabait naman 'yon kaya 'wag kanang tumanggi, okay lang 'yan," bigla atang sumakit ang ulo ko sa sinabi ni Tita.

Why does everyone keeps on assuming that CJ is my boyfriend? Hindi ba pwedeng hindi sila mag assume na boyfriend ko siya?

Can they just calm down?

Thankfully she didn't talk about it again while were having breakfast kasi kung pinagpatuloy niya baka mabaliw na talaga ako kakaisip kung anong isasagot ko sa mga tanong nila.
