Chapter 13

"Where will you be taking me?" I asked while he's driving his car.

Nainis ako sa kanya kanina but I just ended up agreeing to be in this car to be with him. He was still wearing his white coat and he looks so good like he's a real doctor.

"Ocean Resort 101, I booked a reservation because you might get mad if we will have just dinner in your room. My mom said that it's rude to have dinner with a lady in her room because it would make her feel cheap," he said while glancing at me while he's driving.

Naiinis ako kanina! Why the heck do I want to smile right now? Fuck! Why, Veronica? Why? Are you insane? Since when did you start being so marupok, huh?

Don't tell me, you like him? Oh no, no way!

This is a total shit disaster! No, I don't like him. No way and I can never be!

How can I ever like an innocent guy?

"Hey, are you okay?" I went back to reality when I heard his voice.

"Yes, I am fine," I leaned on the car seat while looking at the car window to enjoy the night view and to divert my attention.

"Okay, you're not mad at me?" he asked like he was again talking to a child. His voice sounded so sweet like a fucking candy.

"No, I'm not mad," sabi ko sa kanya bago ko siya nilingon at 'yong dimples niya lumalabas na.

Which means that he was smiling right now. What's wrong with him? Wala namang nakakatawa sa sinabi ko.

I just shake my head before my eyes went back to the car window. Ocean Restaurant was just 15 minutes from our resort. Kakilala rin ni Daddy 'yong may ari. He was the kindest person I know, ninong ko kasi siya.

When we got there, he even open the car door for me just like in movies. He's always playing gentlemen and practices chivalry. Well, what would I expect, he's a good guy, you know.

"I can manage," he's offering his hand for me to hold it para bumaba ako ng kotse niya.

"I know, I'm just afraid with the dark," he pointed some parts of the way na walang ilaw.

If he's not innocent, I would think na para paraan 'tong lalaking 'to. Iisipin ko talaga na chancing siya sa'kin pero baka nga pati chancing hindi niya alam kaya sige na nga!

Bumuntong hininga lang ako at tinanggap ang kamay niya. His hand was bigger than mine. At ngayon ko lang napansin, his hands were like a hand of a football player because of the texture, my ex is a football player, and their hands are familiar to me.

Ugh! Nevermind! Ayoko na siyang maalala!

When we got there, I saw my Ninong Jestoni talking to the customer. He's also a businessman just like my dad but the difference is he's more into restaurants and cuisines while my dad is more into resorts. When he saw me ay agad siyang lumapit sa'kin.

"Veronica, nice to see you," nagmano ako sa kanya kasi diba 'yon 'yong tradition na nakasanayan natin.

"Nice to see you too, Ninong," I smiled at him and his eyes went to my hand which holding CJ's.

What is it again? Tingin ko talaga tatanungin na naman niya ako kung boyfriend ko ba si CJ o hindi.

"Boyfriend?" he asked.

See? Tama nga ako. Why do they always ask me that question? Porket ka holding hands boyfriend kaagad? Hindi ba pwedeng ka MOMOL? Or kalandian? Bakit boyfriend kaagad?

"No," I immediately let go of my hand holding to his kasi hindi ko naman talaga boyfriend si CJ.

Wala rin naman akong balak na jowain siya. Duh? I know that he's a good man kaya nga ayoko, I don't settle for good guys because it will just turn out to be boring. Buti nga ngayon hindi pa ako nagsasawa dito kay CJ. I usually get bored with guys even just for a day.
