"I'm sorry Engineer but why me?"

I can't help but ask because there were Architects who have a higher position than I have that is more capable of the Project. It's an overseas project. I'm just newly promoted Senior Architect at ang laking proyekto nito para sa'kin.

Luckily, he didn't find my question offending. He just smiled at me instead.

"Well, in your four years working with us. I see how passionate you are about your work. I chose you to take over this project because I believe that you can do it. I believe in your skill that you can make this project successful," he said and I just don't know if I should be happy or nervous.

I can't say no to this. That lunch with Stephen earlier, I can say no with that but with this, I can't say no since it's the President who offered me this huge project. That is so much privilege to be chosen in taking over this overseas project.

"Are you okay?" he asked and I seat properly then faced him.

"Yes, I am. Thank you for giving me this project, Engineer. It's an honor," I'm trying to be happy than nervous.

"Okay, good. You will be in the Philippines next week. The project will be in Makati. All of your expenses will be provided by us. This is a 3 years project. The exterior design will be provided by our juniors and you will be the one to supervise their plan, I want you to supervise the details of their plan," pressure is on.

As a Senior Architect, I don't do projects in which I will be the one to make the blueprint of the structure, instead, I develop and interpret a range of structural designs and also as mentor and advisor to the Architect that is under this project. Mahirap 'yong trabaho ko kasi kailangan walang mali kasi kung meron baka mawalan ako license in just one mistake.

"I called the other Architects and Engineer that will be under your team. And they're here," lumingon ako sa may pinto at nakita ko ang mga Architects at Engineers na papasok sa loob ng office at may dala rin silang pictures na katulad sa binigay sa'kin kanina.

It's a skyscraper type of building so we need at least 5 architect that is in a different field. We have different fields and also same with Engineers, hindi lang isa dapat at least five or more in different field and I will be the one who will lead them.

"Everyone, let's welcome your new Senior Architect and she will be the one to supervise the project in the Philippines," the president said to them and they all smiled at me which is just weird. I really find it weird when someone is smiling at me especially if they're few.

"Good day, everyone. I hope we're all set. Those pictures that I gave you were just an illustration that the client wants. They wanted that kind of design. You will be in the Philippines next week because we need to hurry this project since the client wants the project to finish in just 3 years. The purpose of going to the Philippines to for you to work on the site. Next week, we will go to the Philippines then will have a meeting with the client regarding finalizing the design," woah, that was a lot.

Next week kaagad! is this that urgent? I think the client has a huge budget that even the President of the firm will come with us. Well, it's a 65-floor building. What would I expect? but how come I didn't meet the client first before I met the President?

Nah. Nevermind.

"I would be expecting a lot since you guys were the top Architects for your licensure exams in your batch," he said to the Architects on the side.

"Same with these Engineers," he added.

"Yes, Engineer. We will do our best," one of the Architect said.
