"How high do you think this is?" You asked, looking down, across the railing. You leaned on it, careful as to not fall to the grey concrete floor.
"I'd say about twenty feet" Élodie leaned over the railing with you, bumping your hips together playfully.

You were at Macmillan estate, in the old iron works.
There was a railing close to the celing of the building, making standing there quite scary.
A good place to spot, or get spotted by the killer.

"Imagine jumping twenty feet in the normal world" You said in disbelief.
Here, falls meant nothing but a light stun. Nothing broke, nothing hurt.
Élodie chuckled, her bright smile shining on her lips.
"I'd never let you fall like that" She smiled at you, pulling you closer.
You had to chuckle, bumping your forehead to hers.

You and Élodie were a thing for a while now. It was a pretty open relationship.
You throught she was freaking beautiful. Her adventurous, open personality, her wild poofy hair, that pearl white smile.
You had no idea how you managed to score someone that beautiful.
Really, one day you just spat everything at her, and she laughed it off, absolutely accepting all of it.
You loved her so much.

A peaceful while...
Until it was ruined by a bell.
A bell uncomfortably close.
Close, as in, right behind you two.

You jumped over the railing and launched down without a thought.
He slashed at Élodie though. She got hit.
Everything went wrong in such a short period.
You hit the ground, quickly hiding in the rusty pipes of the iron works, making yourself almost invisible to the naked eye.
You waited for something.
Anything.

But not a body.

A lifeless, dark body fell from the railing area, amost making you squeal in distress.
It was Élodie.
Your eyes filled with tears of panic, fear, and shock.
She wasn't moving.
Please move, please move...

The Wraith landed next to her, crouching to her lifeless form.
You wanted to yell at him. Don't touch her! Leave her alone you stripe-faced bastard!
Your own voice yelled in your head as the killer reached for Élodie's hair. He grabbed onto them, lifting her head up, as if checking if she's still breathing.
He snarled at her motionless face, expecting a reaction of some kind.
Not even a twitch of a brow from her.
He let her go, letting her head hit the ground.
The motionless face that had a beautiful smile upon it just a sec ago...
He walked off, to find someone more worth his time.

You scurried out from the darkness as soon as possible, turning Élodie around, to look at her face.
You saw a huge bloody bang on her forehead, and a bruise already forming on her stomach.
He must've hit her head on the metal railing above, and knocked her breath out somehow. Eighter way you needed to wake her up again.
Fast.
She was totaly limp and even started to pale out, that never meant any good.

You laid her down on the cold concrete, your tears blurring your vision.
You tried to push them out, just so you could get a grip and start helping her.
You laid your ear on her chest.
No heartbeat... what did he do to her up there?

A quick flash to the past ran though your head.

You and Élodie were just telling stories, talking about what each of you did before you were rudely dragged into the Entity's realm.
You were laying on her chest, listening to her heart beat quietly, as her laughs echoed through the area.

You bent the body's head back, checking her pulse.
It was there... but so slow.
You panicked.
Quickly getting on your knees, you connected your hands, and started pushing on her chest in repetetive movements.
Trying to pump blood in her veins.

Another memory flash went by.

Blood quickly coursed through yours and Élodie's veins, as you both jumped behind a window, pushing your bodies to a wall, with her shielding you from the killer.
The Legion quickly vaulted through the window, running foward in his insane frenzy.
Élodie grabbed onto you, and hand in hand you ran the other way, happy to finnaly escape him.

You pushed down her chest for the last time. Quickly holding her nose shut, opening her mouth, and pushing air in.
About three times.

Another flash.

You and Élodie struggled to breathe. Ace made a joke about his "incredible fashion sense" and Élodie one-upped him, making you laugh out loud.
You started coughing, which made her laugh, sometimes even snort between her laughs.
You two ended up with red faces and hardly any air in your system.
You thought you were gonna pass out that day.

You pushed on Élodie's heart, trying your hardest to see through the annoying tears.
"C'mon... don't leave me" You pushed on her heart one final time, grabbing her nose again and blowing air in her mouth.
"Élodie come back damn it!" You shouted between the blows, going on to pump her heart again.

You were starting to loose hope...
She wasn't moving at all.
You slowed down.
"Élodie!" You pushed on her shoulders.
"Wake up for christ's sake!" You shook with her.
She was quiet.
You got back to pumping.
You breathed more air into her lungs, sheding your own tears on her face.
Your first aid started to get more and more messy, laving out some pumps here and there.

You stopped.
She was gone.

You lowered your head, tears flowing freely down your cheeks.
She-

An extremly loud wheeze scared you out of mourn, followed by a louder cough. You fell back, slightly squealing with fear.
Élodie woke up, rolling over on her stomach, coughing up a lot.
You hit her back a few times, so she'd cough better.
Afterwards you dropped to the ground, crying with a wild smile on your face.

"Hey- hey what's up? Did you get hurt?" Rakoto asked as she laid her hand on your back.
You looked at her, face full of tears.
"No- I- I didn't. I'm just really happy to see you" You said, sniffing a bit.
"You'll have to explain what that Wraith did to me... my head's pounding.
She said, helping you stand up.
You supported each other in standing up as you walked over to safety.
There was still work to do.

You told her about all the stuff that happened and she just listened in disbelief.
She was thankful for you saving her life.
She told you many a times that she loves you...
