You sighed, turning your head and looking at your bed side table. You reached out to the picture you had laid there, studying it closely. You wished she would just... show up again... you eyes slowly filled with tired tears.
Megara Thomas...
You lost her five years ago when she went out for a run, and never came back. Most people presumed she was dead by now, and you were starting to belive the fact too. You hoped she was dead.
The thought of her being lost somewhere or god forbid, kidnapped, broke you down more than if she would've died.A tear rolled down your cheek.
Of course you hoped she'd just open the door to your room one morning and everything would be fine again, but you were starting to loose hope about her ever coming back.
You studied the picture again.
It was you and Meg after your very first race. You were both covered in mud, water and sweat, with large grins of pure happiness on your faces.
You didn't like to move around as much as Meg did. She was a very sporty girl. She invited you to the race and you accepted. That's how good of friends you two were.
You laid the picture on your chest, closing your eyes as a few more tears slid down your face, tickling your cheeks. As you cried thinking of her, your head started hurting madly. It only made you more mad. Your bottom lip started quivering and your eyebrows furrowed furiously. The headache tightened around your skull, as you heard the walls of your room snap and crack.
You yelled out loudly, your lungs emptying out all the heavy, black air that has made it's home there.
You suddenly felt the bed under you break in half, making you fall down into the endless void of dark.
The headache began to fade, but your body was limp. You felt as if you were deep underwater.Black.
Silence.
Pressure. You closed your eyes, sighing one last time.
Before you hit the ground extremly hard.
The contact knocked the air out of you, making you cough very loudly. You finnaly breathed in, the crisp, cold air hitting your lungs like needles.
You pushed your eyes open, studying your surroundings. You saw... trees.
That is certainly weird. Endless, scary trees that were going high up into the black sky.
You felt around the ground, feeling sticks and small pieces of wood.
You also heard. Well... you didn't hear much. There was a deafening silence. Even when you touched stuff, it barely made any noise.
Only... a guitar somewhere further away.
You lift yourself off the ground, looking around a bit. The forest you were in was dark, with only some shines of the moon coming through. You looked to your right, seeing a few bushes, with yellow light coming through them.
Yellow... fire? Fire.
You stood up, imidiately falling over on the ground. Your legs were so exausted.
They felt like this the last time you and Meg went for a run together...
No matter the numb legs, you tried getting up again. You stumbled here and there, but managed to keep up your stand. You progressed closer to the bushes, soon grabing onto them and pushing them apart.
You basicaly fell through. You saw a large group of people, sitting around an even larger fire, each having a bored expression of many varieties.
Some looked up at you with interest, some with a welcoming smile.
"This... This is gonna sound stupid but... where uh... where am I?" You asked, looking over the people as you struggled to catch breath.
An older looking woman with a bob on her head got your attention by clearing her throat.
"Please, sit down" She moved from her spot on a log and patted the new spot next to her. She didn't seem like any danger, so you obliged.
"My name is Jane Romero, and you are?" She reached out her hand. Romero... that name was so familiar...
"(Y/n) (Y/l/n)" You shook her dirtied up hand.
"Now that the formalities are out of the way, I wish to welcome you to the realm of the entity" She said, sounding pretty serious but having a hint of casual sarcasm somewhere in the background.
"The... what?" You asked, imidiately thinking that you were just dreaming this.Jane proceeded to explain everything to you in great detail. About the killers, the soul-hungry entity and the bloodthirsty trials.
She laid her hand on your back, comforting you."I know it's a lot to take in at first..." She said.
So... stuck here forever...
"And-" You went to ask more questions before you were cut off by a distant yell that aproached rapidly. A smaller body hit the ground near the campfire with a loud thud.
"Fuck..." The voice painedly murmured.
"Who was it this time?" An old man with a cigarette in his mouth asked the girl on the ground.
"The clown... god I hate being put in a trial with him..." the girl sat up, and your heart stopped for a moment.
It was...
She looked like..."...Meg?" You got up fron your seat, saying the name you haven't said in so long.
"Yeah? What's up?" She turned her head to you, and there you saw it.
Those were her red, braided hair.
Her thick eyebrows.
And her cold blue eyes.
"Meg..." You now whispered, completly loosing it.
Meg furrowed her eyebrows, getting up from her fallen spot. She knew you from somewhere...
"Meg it's me, (Y/n). (Y/n) (Y/l/n)" You took a few steps closer to her, still not being able to shake off her puzzled expression.
"M... my (Y/n)..?" She tilted her head a little, clutching her hands in fists.
"Yes, we went for a run together, remember? You've been my best friend ever since school?" You smiled brokenly, a tear of happiness rolling down your cheek.
Meg kept up the confused look for a bit more, until it dropped completly. She stomped to you and hugged you tight. So tight... the hug filled the five lost years of pain with a fast, happy moment.
You returned the hug right back, sniffing into her shoulder.
"I knew it. I knew you were alive..." You said, burrying your face into her neck.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, I couldn't do anything to tell you..." She looked up into the sky, chukling with happiness. She was so glad she had you back in her arms.
She missed you so much...You and Meg spent the night talking about stuff that has been happening outside, about the stuff that she's missing out.
You even brought up some older stories, making the group around the campfire chuckle here and there. As jealous as they were that Meg found a friend again, they couldn't help but wish it to you two.1163 words
