(I am bathing in your tears from the last chapter-)

You were deep in thought, staring into the flames of your campfire. A while ago you put in fresh wood and it was quite interesting to see the flame hungrily consume it.
Peeling off the dry bark and carefuly eating it up, before moving onto the old wood itself.

You were impolitely tugged out of thought by a hand on your shoulder.
"Hey, (Y/n)" A female voice sounded you out.
You looked her way, seeing that it was Kate.
"You feelin' alright love?" She caringly asked.
You shot her a bright smile and a confirmation that you're fine.
"Well, Since you're doing good I was wonderin'... if you'd wanna go practice with me! You said you wanted to learn yeah?" Katie asked you, showing off her guitar with a bright smile.

It is true, you have been trying to learn the instrument.
But it was gosh darn hard, your fingers would tangle in a lot, playing the wrong tunes and such.
But Kate was ever so patient with you. Hell, it seemed like she even enjoyed it.

You gave her yet another nod, and you two got up, to walk away from the fire.
Some specific survivors made it clear that they couldn't even look at your bad playing. So you two just decided to move over into the forest, to practice your tunes there.
The forest would always muffle all sound, and so noone would hear a thing.

"Right, so like last time, it ain't all that hard. Just 1-2-3-1-2-3-2..." She tried instructing the numbers as she played on the strings.
"And it repeats all over..." She played the tunes skillfully, making up a quite slow, but a very soothing melody.
"Now you. 1-2-3-1-2-3-2" She carefuly handed you the guitar and you nervously took it off her.
You sighed and sat the instrument on your lap, nervously pulling on the strings.
You obviously knew the order. It wasn't that hard. But you never really knew how hard you should pull the strings, and so the sound sometimes came out far too loud or far too quiet.
Sometimes you didn't even grab onto a string.
You just pulled on air.

"Hey, don't worry 'bout it. I think you're actualy making small progress" Kate gave you tumbs up with a bright smile.
You smiled, looking down at the guitar.
"Thanks Kate. Means a lot" You looked shyly at the long, wooden neck.

"(Y/n)." You heard her speak up.
You couldn't hear that warm smile through her tone though.
Something was wrong.
You slowly looked up.
"(Y/n). Look very slowly behind you." Denson said those words with pure dread, freezing in her voice.
You swallowed and slowly followed her orders.
A killer.
A fucking killer.
It stood only a few meters away from you.
How was it able to move so close without eighter of you noticing? She was close enough, so you could hear her breathe.
It was one of the larger killers. A big, mask wearing woman.
She had a simple, paper bunny mask on, with black facepaint oozing from under it.
She always used a large ax to cut through your flesh, sometimes even bone.
But this time she didn't have it on.
Not even her deadly, throwing hatchets.
No.
She just stood there, not moving a muscle. Sometimes she only swayed from side to side.

"What do we do?"
"We can't run. She'll strangle us if she has to..."
"I think she'll strangle us eighter way"
You and Kate debated a little, unsure of what to do.

Suddenly the Huntress raised her hand.
She waved at you two.
Very slowly. And as creepy as possible.
She just waved and moved her head to the side. As if that was the most normal thing ever.
"Do we wave back??" Kate questioned as you already slowly raised your hand. You moved it from side to side slowly.
"What are you doing?! You'll get us killed!" Kate grabbed your hand, pushing it down.
"Maybe she's lost?" You looked at Denson, lifting your shoulders, unsure of what to think.
The Huntress made a step foward, making your head jolt back at her and scurry back a little, into Kate.

Anna relized her mistake.
She stopped imidiately.
She really wanted to get close to you.
Your music was like wraps to her wounds. All she wanted was to get a little closer so she could sing with you.
So she could sing her mother's song with you.
She had no idea how to tell you though. From what she's seen, you're afraid. She always enjoyed the emotions of fear but this wasn't nice, seeing them radiate from you.
"Gitara." Anna tried saying her reasons as she pointed at Kate's guitar. She spoke only Russian, and had no idea how to tell you anything.

"U-uh... gytara?" You lift up Kate's instrument, trying to repeat after the Huntress.
You got a few slow nods and a step closer as an answer.
"Ty. Igrať." The killer pointed at the guitar again, saying something you could not understand.

"You know what she's saying?" Kate whispered a question as she held onto your shoulders.
"No idea..." You whispered back, shaking your head for a no.
"Um... gytara... play gytara? Brm brm?" You motioned as if you were playing the strings on the guitar.
"Da. Ty igraj na gitaru" Huntress gave you a nod with a rather bright smile. She was far too close for comfort now. Probably a meter and a half away from you.
"She wants me to play something, I-I don't know what?" You freaked a little, informing Kate about your current situation.
"Uh... I-I don't know play what we played a second ago" Your panic shifted over to Kate who was slowly freaking out.
"Okay okay hold on" You turned back, getting a little stunned.
The Huntress was crouched right in front of you.
How does she move like that??

She was even bigger up close. You could see a small white shine in her normaly jet black eyes, that hud under an old white mask, with it's paint already peeling off due to the age of it.

"O-okay..." You sighed nervously. You looked down at the guitar, trying to hide your sight away from the killer. You carefully pulled on the strings. One two three one two three two... the tunes sounded pretty fine tonight and as the Huntress watched your fingers dance on the strings, you started to feel a sense of peace.
A warm sense of calm.
As you quietly played the repetetive tune, the killer seemed to be more and more soothed. She slowly sat down as she listened to your music.
Of you were not mistaken, the beast even closed it's eyes.

Anna remembered.
As soon as she closed her eyes, memories came flooding back. Of her mother.
Memories of both of them going outside, into the woods and getting wood for the fire, and food for dinner.
Memories of... elk.
A large, terrifying beast, six times the size of young Anna, with it's fur black from rain and back spiky from anger.
It attacked Anna's mother, inevetably killing itself and the caring parent.
She remembered the last lullaby her mother sang to her that night...
She started humming without notice again.
Her hums going through her head into the reality.

You and Kate looked at each other in slight awe as the huntress swayed from side to side as she hummed her oh-so-favorite tune.
Huntress slowly opened her mouth, letting her lullaby come though the music.
"Bayu bayushki bayu..." She quietly said, letting you hear the lyrics for the song first time ever.
"Ne lezisja na kraju..." Her mother quietly sang the song with her, as if she was standing right next to her, holding her shoulder.

Anna's heart yelled the urge to hold something. At first she thought she was missing her ax but no.
She cut herself off mid-hum and quickly leapt foward, grabbing you around your shoulders with one hand, and the back of your head with the other.
You've been very tightly pushed into her large torso, making you drop the guitar.
The poor instrument let out an audible *beoing* as it hit the woody ground.
The Huntress hugged you a little tighter, sighing into the top of your head. It seemed that she might've been going through an episode or maybe a panic attack.
Non-than less, you saw nothing else than more fit, to hug her back. You didn't have such strength as her, but you tried your best.
"Spasiba..." She quietly said as she progressively let go of you. You actualy knew the meaning of this word.
A simple, thank you.

You were allowed to sit back down again. The Huntress seemed like a tired bear now that you looked at her.
"Me spasiba... uh... you" You pointed at yourself and then her as you tried to thank back. It seemed like the correct option. It got a quiet chucke out of her. She seemed to understand.
"Well look at you, making friends with murderous bunnies" Kate playfully jabbed you with her elbow.

You three ended up spending together a lot more time than expected.
Kate played the guitar while you tried learning Bayushki from the killer. You sucked, obviously, but Huntress seemed to enjoy your dull learning skills.
She enjoyed you.
