"Hey Winter! Do you have any plans for this evening?" Christina asked me as I took a seat beside her at the lunch table. Aaron and Andre were already sitting at the table with her when I got there.
"Um, yeah I actually do. Derrick is taking me to dinner tonight. Why'd you ask?"
"Wait, Derrick is doing what now?!" Andre almost shouted in shock.
"He's taking me to dinner tonight."
"Damn, you really work fast. Guess we owe you and Aaron $150."
"Yeah, anyway Christina, why were you asking if I was free?"
"Oh, I was invited to a party that's tonight and I wanted you to be my plus one."
"Just take Aaron or Andre with you." I said as I shrugged my shoulders, not really giving much thought to it.
Andre instantly said that he would love to go with Christina but she denied him and said that she already had someone else in mind that she was planning on asking if I said no anyways. Aaron stayed quiet this whole time while keeping his focus on whatever it was that he was doing on his phone.
The four of us decided to eat lunch at school today so we stayed in the lunchroom eating and talking. Aaron was ignoring me the whole time but I guess Andre and Christina didn't pick up on it though. I mean to be honest I wasn't exactly making the effort to talk to him either. After a few minutes of sitting there and talking with them, I decided to get up and just leave the lunchroom. Nothing was wrong but I just didn't want to be there at the moment.
I walked down the hallway and went to the girls locker room. I grabbed my dance clothes and changed into them. The team agreed to meet up after lunch everyday this week so that we could practice and perfect the dances that we are going to be performing in about a week. I decided since I don't have anything better to do, that I was going to head to the dance studio early and get some extra practice in. Once I finished changing clothes I grabbed my water bottle from my dance bag and walked over to the studio. When I got into the studio I set my bottle down and turned on some of my own music because I wanted to work on a routine that I created for myself.
I got into position as the music started and began practicing. I was creating a dance to the song "Ghost Town," I don't know who it's by because I only listen to the nightcore version of it but yeah. I began practicing my routine and as I was getting so lost in my own world and the music that I didn't even notice when someone entered the studio. It wasn't until the music stopped and I heard the sound of someone clapping that I realized someone had entered. I turned around towards the door to see Derrick standing there with a smile on his face as he crossed his arms.
"I figured I would find you here. Just didn't think that I would get to see you at work."
"What are you doing here Derrick? Don't you have class right now?"
"I was looking for you. I saw your little group of friends but when I didn't see you with them I asked Christina if she knew where it was that I could find you. None of them knew where you were but then I remembered being told that you were a dancer so I came here hoping to find you. And no, I don't have class right now."
I just nodded my head as I took a drink from my water bottle and started walking over towards him until I stood a few inches in front of him. We made eye contact as I crossed my arms and slightly tilted my head to the side as I looked up at him.
"And why exactly where you looking for me Babyboy?"
"Well, I wanted to make sure we were still on for tonight and I was bored so I thought I might also just see what you were up to."
