2 months later...

"What are you guys going to name her?" Roya asked as she reached out and held my daughter's hand who was laying in Aaron's arms at the moment.

"Well, I was thinking about naming her after my birth mom's birth flower," I said as I looked at Aaron trying to get his approval.

"What was it? Her birth flower I mean." Nick asked me.

"Carnation."

"That's beautiful and unique. Does it have any meaning?" Jason asked.

"Yeah, a few things. Honestly just depends on the color. For example, light red means admiration, white means innocence, pure love and remembrance, and light pink means affection, a mother's love."

"What do you think about the name Aaron? I mean, it sounds like you two may not have talked about it much." Roya looked between Aaron and me.

"Whatever she wants to name her I'm fine with. I trust her judgment and I know that she'll pick something that will suit our daughter perfectly. Besides, Carnation is a beautiful name just like our beautiful baby girl who will grow up to be just as beautiful as her mother."

I smiled at Aaron as he spoke. There's a reason why I fell for him so easily but didn't want to date him. His heart and soul are too special for this world.

"Damn bitch, can I have him?"

"What?! No, hands off, Roya."

"Lol, I was just kidding. But seriously though girl he's a keeper. When are we going to plan y'all wedding?"

"Uh, I'm not sure. Soon I hope, like maybe a month or two from now."

"I think we should wait a year."

"A year? But you just asked me to marry you at the baby shower. Last time we talked about this we agreed that it would happen after Carnation was born."

"I know that Winter, I just think that now that she's born it's going to be a lot of work getting settled into a steady schedule with taking care of her. I don't want you to have any more stress on you right now."

Sighing I looked at Aaron for a few minutes before looking at Roya. She shrugged just as Jason and Nick spoke up agreeing with Aaron. thinking about it they have a point. Getting married now would probably be a lot and besides, I need to get my body back in shape first before I start trying on dresses so that I can be confident in how I look in them. Maybe waiting a year wouldn't be such a bad thing.

"Ok, let's wait a year then."

We all sat there talking for a few more minutes. Carnation was passed around so that everyone got the chance to hold and praise her for how cute she looked. After about maybe 30 minutes the nurse came in and asked for all of them to leave saying that I needed to get my rest. Aaron put Carnation down in her crib, I felt more comfortable with her being in the same room as me so that I could keep an eye on her. Not too long after everyone left, I slowly drifted off to sleep.

5 months later...

*Baby crying over monitor*

"Baby... baby... Aaron!" I kept calling while shaking him trying to wake him so that he could finally take his turn handling Carnation and putting her back to sleep.

"What?"

"Can you go make sure she's ok and put her back to sleep, please? I've done it the last 4 times and I have to be up in 2 hours for a meeting at work."
